This was 1989. Before his directing career and others iconic movies, but he was already very famous

I love Mel Gibson the actor, the director, the person. He's not perfect, and whatever Hollywood has done to him in the past few years speaks volumes of its biases and hypocrisy.

He is how I imagine Bruce Wayne. Mel would have been the perfect Batman

He is awesome. Too bad the US couldn't handle him. The rest of the world still loves him.

"High reward, low effort", he is my spirit animal. I was 14 when he did this and I think I saw it and adopted his work ethic. I keep my current job for exactly that reason.

My brother suffered from alcoholic rage, he was and is my best mate but under the influence he has destroyed cars, threatened my life, broken a man’s jaw, been arrested and punched out a cop. He’s been sober for over twenty years and my beautiful loving brother has been restored to me. Having suffered from several blackouts myself I know how alcohol can hijack your mind and eventually take your soul. So I understand the struggles of Mel Gibson and do not judge him for his bad behavior, but appreciate his incredible genius and all to human battles with rage alcohol and sobriety

I found out Riggs was supposed to die in Lethal Weapon 2. That's why he doesn't move in that last helicopter shot.

This is so honest that I love it. To be a movie star, is the high reward , low effort choice that I make.

The best part is that he REALLY was THE movie star at that time, and rare are the actors who have been as "movie star-like" since then. Why ? Because it was written all over his fucking face. I wonder what Hollywood actor could pull something like that today.
