Mel B, why I turned to electromagnetic brain treatment to deal with trauma

SPICE Girl Melanie Brown had painful electric brain therapy to try to deal with terrifying suicidal thoughts that were plaguing her life.
In an exclusive interview, Mel, 48, has revealed she secretly flew to a Balearic island at the end of last year and had the gruelling brain treatment nearly every day for six weeks.
The star says the electro cranial magnetic therapy “renewed, rewired and shocked” the neurons in her brain that had been battered after ten years in a physically, emotionally and financially abusive marriage with Stephen Belafonte.
Mel told The Sun on Sunday: “The machine would bang and brrr as magnetic waves shot into my head. It was intrusive.”
She describes how the shape of her head was measured so that the machine could treat certain specific points of the brain that deal with “trauma, emotions and depression”.
A grey cap was then placed on her head before the painful therapy began.
She describes how it brought her to “floods of tears” and she had to deal with terrifying flashbacks.
It was a last resort after already trying hypnotherapy and EMDR, which involves moving the eyes a specific way to process trauma, as well as tapping therapy where the patient works on acupressure points to resolve anxiety.
Mel says: “I know it sounds extreme but I had tried other therapies.
“Talking therapy brought everything up again and I didn’t want to say the things that had happened to me, even to a professional.
“So I did this to guinea-pig myself. I want to make sure that I can honestly say to another survivor, ‘If you can’t do the talking therapy because you are scared, try this’.
“So I wanted to try it. Now I can honestly say it worked for me - and I am going to have another treatment.”

I had ECT without my consent during a breakdown. It took away my memory. I'm now suing them. If you value your memory, don't do it. You don't notice at first. You will be watching a film and realise you can't remember any of the actors names. Actors you have been familiar with for life. It gets worse after. Please be very wary of this treatment. She will be getting paid to promote it.

I've had ECT and I only lost short term memory. It can save your life if you're very suicidal and in a deep depression. If it helps it can change your life. But she isn't talking about Electro Convulsive Therapy she's talking about Electromagnetic Therapy, which is less effective and has less side effects. No matter what therapy, forced treatment is never ideal and I hope you get justice.

Sounds like Mel was with a male narcissist. I have had terrible experiences with abusive female narcissists. Im now aware of how I was attracting these types of people because of the abuse I endured from my narcissistic mother. You have to rebuild everything, because these monsters slowly erode your soul.

Come unto me, all ye that Labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

We either let our traumas tell our life story, or we flip the script and create a new story. It's hard work. Things like mindfulness and meditation helped. I like the workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety by Harper Daniels.

Mel is a very strong individual and she didn’t have the best upbringings in Yorkshire and to put everything on her marriage that have caused her problems. I find that hard to believe she had the ways and Means to leave the marriage because she was financially independent, which of course always means you have several options, whereas a lot of females in bad marriages do not have?

And what's wrong with Yorkshire. She should have tried a dirt poor pit village in Northumberland with all the pits shut. And I know many men who have been left homeless and completely forgotten. Because their wives couldn't keep it in their underwear and blamed the husband

@@TEMPLAR969 some people from Yorkshire really are stupid. They think they’re in the centre of the world but I suppose in their own mindset they are. Do you want to see the real picture of 1960s Yorkshire just look at thefilm KES set in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire, then you’ll get an indication where a lot of us came from including myself from North East Wales, where the schools virtually identical? 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

@WILLIAM1690WALES I live in the Yorkshire Dale's now . I am very familiar with conditions in places like batley. However, that does not cause real mental problems drink and drugs are the root of that .She was born in a much easier time than us .I was born in a small dirt poor pit village in Northumberland in the early 1960s .I am very familiar with grinding poverty. Luckily, as I am from a military family, and was taught to self improve. I also understand the connection between Wales and us Geordies as we share a similar heritage. But that wasn't my point. Industrial Yorkshire is not all Yorkshire is . Kes was part of my English O level. I've read the book and watched the film .

I'm an avid fan of the Spiced Girls & I like you very much but one thing, how come that you reach 10 rotten yrs of your relationship without doing anything? That's a way too long to hardly bear the situation & so risky to gamble your life with a narcissist like him could have ended killing you & never found. In his interview, i feel the chill, that this person has a very controlling nature & apt to damage you in every way he could & not mindful of any consequence there might be. He's very defensive, offensive, dominating, brutally loud, argumentative, attacking you in that interview just to disgrace you! Thanks God you've been so lucky to get rid of fhis evil guy before you're declared DOA in the hosp. Remember. NARCISSISTS are very cunning persons but loves to dominate & when frustrated could easily snap out so next time, BEWARE!
