Meinl Drum Festival - Chris Coleman - Solo in 7 / 5 / 3
Музыка
A lot of people have asked us about this clip, so here it is. What you see here is Chris‘ interaction with the festival audience followed by three different drumsolos. Chris was directly involved in the video editing as to how exactly he wanted this video to look like. When we finished the clip he emailed me saying „I’m so excited bro, I had so much freaking fun @ the Fest, with people ... I want that atmosphere to translate, more than anything.“
This one is in my Top 5 list of all Meinl Drum Festival performances ever happened. I hope you’ll enjoy watching it.

The drum community and music world in general needs more people like Chris Coleman. His crowd interaction and involving everyone even for a drum solo and clinics is absolutely inspiring.

I have to many drummers that inspire me?. But Drumming by ear is way 2 much fun from when I was four years old on card board box's & had a drum set when I turned at the age of 9 years old?. Chris Colman? Sounds very much like Tony Royster JR & Eric Moore?. I'm glad Drums are my Life?. I hope one day if I get better soon over my sister's passing 😢😞😟😨☹️?. It sucks being with out a older Sister?. I miss her heaps?. Love this kind of thing👍👍👍👍👍?.

@@danielrice363 isn't it amazing how we set rules that limit us to just be and keep going? Something aren't worth retirement, they are the essence of who we are. When we give up on them because of social norms and the proverbial status quo, we essentially throw in the towel to life.
My nephew and fellow drummer, how proud we are of your ability to reach your audience, its a blast when he comes home and we have two sets of drums going ,,, not much sleep w/ that much fun! U Rich

His drumming is of course light years beyond my ability to play, but it even exceeds my ability to follow at some points. Chris is brilliant, and is an absolute class act.

One of my mentors told me ages ago that people hear music with more than just their ears. People hear music with all of their senses. This brother fully understands that. Great performance. Great spirit. Great mathematics...
Even if Meinl didn’t win me over with their superior sound, the Meinl family would in a heartbeat. I love them so much, they all have such genuine passion to play, and such personality, not to mention they are some of the MOST talented drummers in the world right now. Chris Coleman, Alex Rudinger, Anika Nilles, Matt Garstka, Benny Greb, and Siros Vaziri, all part of the Meinl family and my all time favorite drummers. And there are even more. I’m only 18 right now, looking ahead to a career as a session musician and I sincerely hope to one day endorse Meinl as a professional musician and join the family!

Sounds like a new genre to me 😂
many look at his playing speed and technique, but the most awesome is the complexity of the subdivisions of the rhythm and how he manages them and improvises over them and resolve in an ongoing way still being musically pleasing
And here, is the best player in the universe, he always surprises me, I've been watching his videos all my life, even in cuba, where the internet is a trash and very expensive, I paid to download his videos many times, I already moved to another country and I hope to meet him one day, that will be my biggest dream, CHRIS: KEEP MAKING VIDEOS, JUST LIKE THAT.
I'm done ahahahaha I love this guy, when he went James Brown just killed me! 😂One of the best drummer ever, a ton of experience and sense of humor! ❣️🙏
That is a force of nature. And a lumberjack. What incredible hands.
At the end of #3 I actually clapped out loud, alone, at my laptop. The man is a -monster- of the greatest caliber!
I was there, I‘m a former group 2 member, and this was such a spiritually cleansing experience. Had a quick chat with Chris at the signing afterwards and he is one of the nicest human beings I ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with!

Chris Coleman is a beast on the drums. Get him behind a kit and all hell breaks loose in the best possible way! I love how he uses two snares, one with a deeper fuller sound and the other has a sharper flatter sound. Total beast behind a kit!💪🏻🤘🏻😎
"we got a bunch a flammin goin on" 😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
13:28 the smoothest one hand roll i've ever heard
Chris is so great with audience ... not only with drums! The complete drum/cymbal mix is superbe, clear, cutting through, punchy ... crazy! One of my favorites.
Best drummer of this generation, hands down. No one even comes close
I swear this guy could do this for a living...
So much smile, so much fun, so much love...
That's the actual soul of the drum kit in human form! It's rare to catch one in its natural environment as they are a dying breed. This is a master at their craft. Oh his playing is exquisite!!!
The most complete drummer at the moment...

This made me literally start laughing out loud because it is so good. What a talented guy. And seems to be such a good spirit too. Amazing video all around
Dudes a beast. It's not easy for us drummers to get miked up like that and talk lol we usually speak through the kit so always cool to see a drummer who has the ability to speak and connect, very cool
this guy moves on the pulse like a butterfly , just wonderful ..

He is a huge role model for me, from the person itself to his incredible drumming skills!
Wow, that's is insane.... hands down to this guy. I can't even imagine what is going through his brain while he drums like that. :) Thanks for giving this to the world, Norbert and Chris!!
What an absolute master. A pleasure to listen to. And, man, that ride cymbal makes me weak in the knees.
Are you related to Ronnie Coleman?

What an inspiration. One of my favourite drummers if all time, absolute legend!
The joy is contagious😂
My teacher (a metal guy) told me that it wasn't a good gig until you can either see the belt line (t-shirt completely wet) or the ass water. Well Chris, this was indeed a damn good gig and my teacher was damn right.

Ich hab so lang auf das Video gewartet. Endlich!!! Danke!! War ein richtig geiler Abend und war viel zu schnell vorbei.
Such a great drummer! Seems like a great guy as well!
So... how many new Chris Coleman fans are out there after this?!? I know I am!
I'm so Glad for Drum's, i just hope i don't fail my 10 year old Niece, she is getting way cool at drum's, she first learnt the kick pedal like one day she play's heel up wear as for me i play flat foot, i very proud of her, & now she is jamming with me, i jam with her on my Congo's & Bongo's, i'm so proud of her, i hope won day she get's to for-fill her Dream's, on stage that would be amazing, Nice Drum Solo by Chris Coleman.

This is super incredible. Well put up and organized
Chris is a freaking human metronome.
Excellent drumming 👍👏👏👏
Amazing man with even more amazing skills and words. Another great video, Meinl!
I've been a huge fan of Chris' for a long time but somehow never saw an interview or clip of him talking. He's brilliant.
OMG the sound of the high tom is so sweet! The whole kit but...those high ones!
This is a spectacular performance
His Drum clinic in Hong Kong was one of the best that I had ever attended guy is so humble and friendly, and of course his drumming was mind blowing.
I need more funny drum videos from Chris Coleman! This guy had me laughing when he was dancing to the claps!
As I'm watching this clip, I wanted to give a shout out to Meinl and their artist endorsements over the last decade. Greb and Coleman and Garstka - and probably a few I'm forgetting - have gotten me to covet Meinl sounds. I love some of the textures which have filled in some defeinite "sound holes" in my cymbal array. Anyhoo, kudos - you folks (thru your highlighting and sponsoring of some singularly amazing artists) have pulled new customers in.

such great musicality - there's a lot of super technical drummers out there who don't have this
His enthusiasm is contagious
Why is this the first I’m hearing from this guy? This is incredible. I have just eaten my favourite cheese with a fantastic bottle of wine, now I’m watching this on the toilet. Life doesn’t get any better.

One my favorite drummers too, awesome skill on the drums indeed
Incredible chops and incredible creativity. He's the best there is.
Man, he's such a great example for how to build a brand, communicate on the drums, and have an amazing attitude off the drums!
Super fantastic, sympathic guy! And his style reflects 1:1 his character. Fantastic! I want to work with him together...right now! (sorry my english, him german)
I'd be as happy as him if I could play like that.
I came across this in my video recommendation. No regrets at all for discovering him. He went from a total fun goofball to an insane drummer all in an instant.
Looking buffed out like Ronnie Coleman!!😂😂JK man has mad skills and my utmost respect. Thank you for this video and the house lights again! Cheers, D
