Wow, watching Chris Coleman again. I had the great privilege to attend this great Drumeo Festival this past February in Vancouver B.C. Canada. I was 4 rows from the center of the stage. Chris was the first performer on day 1 and all I can say is HOLY COW. This man totally blew my mind and set bar so high for the rest of the performers with his performance. He is also a very humble man. Everything about his stage presence and of course his incredible gifted playing stuck with me all weekend. This was the best music experience of my life and I was so sad when it was over. Rock On Drumeo..................

You bet he did. Just knowing that he was the one to had performed first, means all the pressure has been set for the next performers. Just the mere fact that Chris is the one open up the event means they know things were more real than the event it self. They knew it was no joke and it cannot be taken lightly.

Chris is one of my favorite drummers ever for all the reasons everybody knows...incredible chops, amazing musicality, unmatched innovation, etc. But this video highlights probably the most important thing a drummer can master--the ability to let the music be the music!!! He lays down a pocket like no other that allows all the other incredible musicians and solos shine on their own terms without the threat of Chris hijacking their moment!!! No doubt he could have, but his decision was to respect the music and the goal of the composer to achieve the purpose of a complete experience for the listener and viewer. From one musician to another, much respect my brother!!!💯💥🔥🔥🔥

800,000, or so people were so blown away by the joy produced when they heard/felt this, that they forgot to hit like!!!!!!!
Chris Coleman...best drummer in the world. It just doesn't get better than this. He is my favorite drummer of all times. I sincerely believe that this guy is the perfect drummer for anything. I wish to be like him some day.
Amazing, Chris is brilliant and his is the most entertaining drum clinic I've been to
I got to jam with Chris on stage at a Drummers Expo in Australia when I was 18. One of the best days of my life.
If a genie appeared before me and said "I grant you the talent of any drummer of your choice" I would, without hesitation, choose Mr. Chris Coleman, no question!
Chris Coleman is so exciting to watch. 👍👍 Had my 'Chris Coleman Fix' today.
Was the best choice to have him be the first to preform, in this first fest. He's a monster, once of the greatest of all time, and always plays above what you'd expect
I saw him live playing with Victor Wooten!! Victor even did a magic trick where his bass guitar floated lol. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life i'll never forget it. Thanks for the memories Chris!
I watch this many times and still gets spellbounded by Chris's playing and his accuracy, technique and the whole arrangements of the music! Such a great keyboard player, Stephanov!

I am not a drummer but an appreciator of great music and musicians and watching this guy fill out an impressive eight-minute song while only glistening by the end of it makes me want to learn to play the drums.
Those hi hats are insane!! 😍
My favourite drummer, in my opinion the best technically and the sound he pulls from the drums says “ Seasoned Professional” I value his playing highly.
I legit have been waiting for Chris Coleman and Drumeo to get together, Love this!! Can't wait for more
He is among the best for sure.... He's just one big pocket.... Love the way he grins while he plays as if to say "Yeah, I'm killing it".....
Always interests me that there are people out there that watch this video of their own free will and yet still somehow decide to hit the dislike button. I wonder what they find so bad that they'd dislike his playing, because after all....That's what this video is; "Chris Coleman Performance". Only reason i could think of is some sort of jealousy maybe? I mean you cant seriously be so jealous that pressing the dislike button makes you feel better.....that's just sad.
Chris is such an incredible drummer. Accent where the song needs to be accented, let's the song breathe when the song calls for it and allow other musicians to get their solos in as well. Very well rounded and unselfish drummer!!! An awesome drummer totally.
Sound, precission, speed and creativity....Huge drummer.
I'm just awed by this mans skill, but also his obvious joy in playing his instrument... lovely to watch and listen to

CHRIS’s independence and technical skill on a set put him in my TOP FIVE GOAT DRUMMERS TODAY, with CALVIN RODGERS, TONY ROYSTER JR, ERIC MOORE and DENNIS CHAMBERS. It’s incredible after all these years he continues to get better! 🤩🤩🔥🔥
At what point do you say, "I've mastered timing, tempo, rudiments, rhythm, speed, independence, pocket, and every possible genre of music known to mankind, it's time for me to open a school to teach drumming to the world!" LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Dave Weckl: Contemporary Drummer + One has a lot to answer for
Valeriy is a genius, mixed his track with the power drums of Cris!!! Woooww, fusion still alive with all power!!!
Yes his playing is godly. I’ve been to 1 clinic and also got to be a fly on the wall at GC when he came through I think right as we opened he popped into the drum dept. I recognized him right away and greeted him. He had a calming presence. He was a tired because he had been up all night recording and now he was about to go to another session!!!! I asked him if I could get him some sticks and he insisted on hot rods. He played super soft for about 10 minutes and went in his way. He was super chill and kind hearted. You could tell he cares about people. A good heart.

VALERIY STEPANOV BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!!! Americans, credit him at least... good playing, but credit that awesome mad Russian keyboardist, for god's sake. As a drummer, the music we play with inspire us leading feeling and ideas, making our playing conscious, giving our notes sense and context, driving our inspiration. So, as far as Music comes before chops, (and should lead chops), it's quite misleading not to mention the real composer, nor to say this is a cover. You can look at chops, but beyond that, this is music.
