I have seen war as a child. I can remember as we were fleeing from violence and death a man yelled out "who is Bartire" carrying a wounded man. My father replied we are Bartire what's going on. The man told my father this young man is wounded and he is our tribe. My father and my oldest brothers carried the man with three bullet wounds on his stomach and kidney to the bank of the City we called home at the time.There were us and another family there in that bank and my mother and the other woman there were the same tribe and us and the other kids were the same tribe. In the next few days the mab from our tribe who never met us before that day was lying in the bed with no doctors, medicine or help or hope around at all while our people were dying all over the country. I can still remember his moans and his aches as he died slowly over several days. I felt real anger as a child in a country surrounded by real violence, the kind that makes you not eat for a while. Our clansman finally died and we buried and didn't even know who to tell their son or brother or husband died. At least he died in a bed of family he is kin to and my sisters and mother tried their best to make him comfortable by asking him what kind of food he likes the most and cooking that for the day while serving him first. My father was a religious scholar and he prepared him as much as he could by sitting with him to remind him to beg God for forgiveness and get ready for death as there was no other way for him. I can remember the smell of his wounds and but the bravery in his eyes was really amazing. He smiled like I have never seen before until I got older and I noticed it was actually something more common in a man who have a reason to risk it all. May Allah have mercy on you and all the Muslims who passed on. Palestine will be free but not by this means, Allah will make a way out for us again and again and again until we return to him. Patience and perseverance my people in Gaza, our destination is Jannah and I ask Allah the highest of Jannah for you. The time will come and the girls will get Married free Muslim women as they are and we will speak of Islam. Even if others don't like that, I just wish I can witness that before I die.
