Hello. Can you please share anecdotes of that meeting? What did Khaa Saahab talk about? Did you meet him in India or another country? As far as I know Khaa Saahab first performed in India in 1970s.

My all time favourite most Gazal by any artist. While studying at York University in Toronto, Canada I had the unique privilege n honour to listen to this timeless Gazal in person, sitting right next to Janab Mehdi Hassan in the front row at Seneca College , Don Mills and Finch Campus , Toronto, Canada in 1976. What a performance. What an artist. Unbelievable.

His contribution and innovation in ghazal Gayaki is phenomenol. Originator of a new style in ghazal singing. Heartiest tributes.

जब जब भी आपको सुना। आपके ही हो कर रह गये । You are the king of ghazals

The tabla setting which ustaad sb did in the mid, shows his mastery and command. The beautiful sentences uttered by him in pain that surr was not going as he wished, are so moving 😢 💔. I'm trying to feel the feelings he wanted to convey to his audience and just by thinking of it, it takes me in emptiness/ like riding on wings of divinity and consciousness/ meditation... it's so soulful

No words to explain what magic his voice creates. Ghazal singing was established as a disciplined genre by Khan Sb. He actually told the world that Ghazal singing is a distinct field with its own laws to be followed. Khan Sb sang with such a devotion as a person performs worship. Ghazal singing is getting obsolete gradually. Perhaps the new generation doesn't have the passion to do hard work as Khan sb did to attain perfection in singing

a true divine singer and makes us feel to love mankind for ever

It gives heavenly peace of my mind while listening Gazal maestro's God gifted voice....Ustad ji Amar Rahe .....

No epithet is sufficient to describe this manyfaceted talent. The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was simply infallible as a ghazal singer and therefore, he was beyond the reach of us all fallibles!

He is the only singer of this calibre...he is the man behind jagjeet singh..who started singing ghazals in early 70s when Mehdi hassan visited india in 60s...

Shahenshah-E-Ghazal. In fact he is the greatest and most influential ghazal singing persona of Indian subcontinent. His haunting baritone truly haunts and will be haunting forever. We are deeply indebted to him.

I am listening this Ghazal since 1976 and i feel every occasion that i am listening this first time. What a wonderful poetry & equally wonderful Voice.✌️👍♥️🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰

شاهنشاهی غزل مهدی حسن صاحب جنت ها نصیب آش شود غزل های که به هر راگ و راگنی که خوانده به مصال می‌باشد راستی نه در هندکه فعلا هری هرن غزل خوان شان است زمین و آسمان فرق داردودر پاکستان که غلام علی است فرق بسیار دارد خلاصه هیچ کس برابر او نیست بغضی اشخاص است که از دل خود القاب های به خواننده گان میدهند بدون فهمیندهگی موسیقی کلاسیک خوانده گان را میگویند آفتاب موسیقی یا استاد وغیره البته کسانیکی که این القاب موسیقی را میدهند یک بورد استادان کلاسیک وداکتر های موسیقی آند که این لقب ها رامیدهندخلاصه این آسان های بمصال را با کسانیکی اصلا در راه موسیقی نه رفتند برابر میکند

Is gazal ke Saath ek dilchasp Lissa hai. Main Himachal Pradesh Shaadi mein gya tha. To vahan Shaadi mein pipni wale (shanai jaisa instrument) ek tune Baja rahe the. Mujhe bar bar page ye lay Maine Kahin suni hai. Puchne par bataya ye pahadi raag par adharit ek gaane ki shun hai. Bilkul yahi gazal thi vo. Ek program mein Hassan saheb ne ye bataya bhi ki ye ek pahadi raag hai. My favourite gazal.....
