مھدی حسن عہد ساز گلوکار ہیں. غزل کے ہر شعر کو اور شعر کے ہر لفظ کو سروں کا خوبصورت لباس پہنانے میں وہ کمال مہارت رکھتے ہیں. مھدی حسن کے گانے کا انداز بہت کھلا ھے لیکن پھر بھی پابند ھے. وہ سر لے اور تال پہ اتنی ماہرانہ گرفت رکھتے ہیں کہ وہ کہیں بھی کبھی بھی آوارہ نہیں ہونے پاتے. انہیں شہنشاہ غزل کہا جاتا ھے. وہ سروں کے جادوگر ہیں.
