Yess dear pure singing. Nobody did justice to singing more than him.

I’m here listening in 2024 to Mehdi Hasan Sahab……the king of ghazals

May be many have not heard this rare version of Ranjish Hi Sahi presented by Mehdi Hassan. During this presentation our guru of gurus in Hindustani Classical the legendary Salamat Ali was in the audience.. And lo and behold how the use of both madhyams was demonstrated with such deftness so effectively in the beginning to Salamat Ali by the maestro as one expert to the other. Please listen to the use of pure tones throughout the song and especially the last two stanzas where he uses the komal nishad in the song & then demonstrates how the change in scale adds to the beauty of the presentation. What a control over the swaras (notes) and his voice.. is really exalting.

i realize it is pretty randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released movies online?

I listen to this gazal repeatedly. Through his voice I try to feel his unique presentation along with accompanying artists.

Listening to Late Mehdi Hasan Sa'b has always been an experience unexplicable. This piece is just an example of 'divine' music.

Janab Ahmad faraz. Wrote the kalam, ranjish hi nahi, but brougt in voice in the film first, and this gazalsand becamebso popular in whole world. Every singer sings but Janab maroon mehdinhassan had sung in such a way that every time it came different in his own voice in present. When he sung with kharaj, the koh e noor of this kadam took on head of Janab mehdi Hassan Khan saheb. Allah unhe ways jagah de jaha keval gaiyki go.
