The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was a ghazal singer par excellence and was in a class all by himself ! His style of gayiki was so simple, effortless, soft, refined, soothing, soulful and worth-listening again and again without getting bored ! It strikes at the core of the heart of the listener instantly and get him/ her captivated ! Perfection, Professionalism and Sophistication in performance was his forte ! It's, indeed, very difficult to rate his ghazals -- as to which one is 'Numero Uno' -- because each one of them was so rich in its content -- Labz, Sur, Taal, and Loy and aesthetic value ! Perhaps, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had something divine in his voice which had made him so special ! Personally speaking, l consider his masterpiece -- " Abke Hum Bichre To Shayad Khawabon Mein Mile ; Jaise Sukhe Huye Phool Kitabon Mein Mile" penned by the great Ahmed Faraz Saab as my all time favourite ! No one can sing like Ustad Khan sahib Mehdi Hasan.
The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was a ghazal singer par excellence and was in a class all by himself ! His style of gayiki was so simple, effortless, soft, refined, soothing, soulful and worth-listening again and again without getting bored ! It strikes at the core of the heart of the listener instantly and get him/ her captivated ! Perfection, Professionalism and Sophistication in performance was his forte ! It's, indeed, very difficult to rate his ghazals -- as to which one is 'Numero Uno' -- because each one of them was so rich in its content -- Labz, Sur, Taal, and Loy and aesthetic value ! Perhaps, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had something divine in his voice which had made him so special ! Personally speaking, l consider his masterpiece -- " Abke Hum Bichre To Shayad Khawabon Mein Mile ; Jaise Sukhe Huye Phool Kitabon Mein Mile" penned by the great Ahmed Faraz Saab as my all time favourite ! The great Khan Saab had an uncanny ability to select the right Kalam of the right Shayar for his ghazals and mould it into the appropriate raga so that it could make a lasting impact on the mind of the listener ! Let us bow our head in reverence to this great legendary singer and noble soul for his impeccable track record and stupendous accomplishments ! Unsaaris Saab deserves unequivocal appreciation from all discerning music lovers for uploading of this excellent ensemble of choicest ghazals of the great Khan Saab ! Wah kya baat hai. Urdu adab aur ghazal, rehti duniya tak huzoor ki aabhaari rahegi. Aapki gayaki mein ghazal muqammal taur par ubhar kar saamne khadi ho jaati hai.

Tabla speaks.It touches the mind and the heart.The combination of tabla, hermonium and the masterpiece of Ghazal Samrat Ustad Mehdi Hassan creates a divine scenario.Still to me tabla is by far the most touching rendition.
