I am 75 years old and I know what's going on in Gaza right now. I am not Jewish nor am I Muslim but that has nothing to do with my empathy for others who are suffering. I watch news/podcasts and reports from Gaza by brave reporters who live there, on You Tube and a great variety so that I can determine what is truly happening. I was not aware of the history nor did I even understand what "occupied" meant but I got some books and educated myself about the history of the Palestinians and from what I learned it seems like they have been pushed around and bullied since the early 1900's. I am ashamed of my country...the U.S. and Biden who I voted for. I pray that some country has the guts to come in and help the Palestinians but they are outnumbered by the strength and military might of the powers that be....I don't blame them but my hats off to the Houthi's...they are courageous! They have the guts to proclaim the horrific actions of Israel and take action! I wish more people had that kind of courage.

If only there millions more Mehdi Hassans in the world. Thank you for being an oasis of honesty and non bias in a dessert of dishonesty, uncontrollable greed and hunger for power from the many morally bankrupt sociopaths that seem to be running the world right now. As a young British child I grew up in Apartheid South Africa and was lucky enough to see it end. The country’s actions in the ICJ show that they learned the lessons and learned to forgive if not forget. I saw the world call Mandela a terrorist one day and a freedom fighter the next. If only the world had learned the lessons too. We can’t put back the bodies ripped apart by war nor breath life back into all those bodies of innocent people killed by bombs and bullets. I pray that the world will wake up and regain its sense of justice and empathy before there are no lives left to save. Thank you again.

The US fears Israel selling more of its military secrets and hardware schematics to China. Israel has the US in a very tight box. Decades of support from the US for Israel is going to blow up in the US's face sooner or later. This isn't a Biden issue, this is a long term failure of the US military establishment. If the US does anything to stop Israel than China gets all the secrets on the F-35 (along with Russia).

Mehdi was my favorite show on MSNBC, I am saddened and horribly frustrated by this news, I had no idea and wondered where he was. Glad to see him doing his own thing with his own voice!!

This show has had a huge impact on the change in tone coming out of the White House. Democracy Now deserves a recognition and award for their journalistic integrity in 2024.

I've never looked away, since this began. I look for all I can. I've cried, and grieved and cared and still do. It's so nice to hear Medhi's quick mind talking. I like straight truth. I really appreciate Democracy Now, Norm Finklestein, Owen Jones and I've seen the images out of Gaza on Al Jazeera. It is madness indeed. Here we provide you bombs, and here we provide you some food. It's heartbreaking, and it's only a matter of time before an entire new generation of Hamas comes about, and it makes Jewish people more unsafe the world round. BiBi must go.

Bibi is symptomatic of the culture he lives within. That is WELL documented. See recent polls in Israel on how Israelis feel about the IDF's treatment of Gazans since October 7th, the vast majority think it has been perfectly okay, and about a third think the IDF should be even more savage. THAT is the culture in Israel, and it has been like that for a long time. Israel is a very conservative country, very militarist. And they feel utterly entitled to have dominion over Palestinians while covering little to nothing of the costs of keeping Palestinians (in Gaza and in the West Bank) under their collective boot. Starving them , expropriating them , not paying for their food, education, or health care .. they externalize those costs to the U.N.

I had some children of Holocaust survivors argue with me that the Israeli government was right… It took me translating speeches from the Israeli government prior to October the 7th into German and putting them next to speeches from 1930’s Europe for them to understand what they were looking at and supporting. Several of them broke down into tears when I showed them the speeches and the FOOTAGE that came with it and then put it next to current recent Israeli speeches and the footage that came with it. It took one of them seeing actual footage of what happened to relatives of them after this sort of speeches was made to understand what they had been lauding as ‘needed’ and perfectly normal.

Such a dumb comment. Israel has done nothing comparable to Hamas...ever. It does not indiscriminately shell or rocket Gaza. It does not use the Israeli population as human shields as Hamas does with its pop. It does not engage in October 7 mass murder, systematic and indiscriminate. It does not take hostages. It does not indoctrinate its children that the Arabs/Muslims are akin to Apes and Pigs and reward those who murder via suicide bombings etc...Such ignorance in your posting. Also, there is no such thing as a Palestinian and never has been. Learn some history.

Watch Al Jazeera, listen to Owen Jones (a British freelance journalist, he's on-line on KZread,... he's impeccable on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict... does phenomenal interviews, and he's excellent on the Middle East, on Sudan and on corruption in western politics, especially Britain), watch France 24, watch Deutsche Well (DW).
