As a kid of the early/mid 1970s, I remember these Action Jackson figures!! I grew up in Seattle, Washington and money was tight in our family and these Action Jackson figures were cheaper than the GI Joe figures and accessories that went with them. My favorite on was the one with the parachute pack… Well, both Action Jackson AND GI Joe action figures influenced me to being the man I am. A retired US Army paratrooper and a retired law enforcement officer. Sadly, today young boys are not encouraged to be men, but something far less than a man. Also!! Every Christmas for 2-3 years, my mother would buy a “foot locker” filled of accessories like helmets, rifles, grenades, etc… from Monogamy Wards’s Christmas catalog to go with my Action Jackson and GI Joes figure collection.

My Dad used to buy the outfits for me from a market seller in the UK, unfortunately he never had the figure as well and Dad bought me knock off Lion Rock style figures with only 5 point articulation - head was the same as the Yank head in Mego's Lion Rock WW2 range and blow molded but they were a wee bit smaller. I had the Sailor set and the Safari/Jungle set with the Aussie style hat.

Looks like Action Jackson series had better outfits than later mego.
