After the irreplaceable "knock offs" episodes, I love these "Mysterious Origin, finally found" installments. Even when I've never heard of the item, it's a shared experience to have a half- remembered toy keep cropping up in your memory (and how much has been changed by your imagination over time?).
Yes, Sky Guy made it into production. I remember seeing this box in a toy store back in the 1970's.

Yeah after the video dropped, a couple of boxed ones have surfaced, so he got sold somewhere but likely in a small run.
Sky Guy Begins!
WOW !! THATS incredible!! The packaging was reminiscent of GI JOE ADVENTURE TEAM ARTWORK ! Love it thanks for the info !!
It's amazing that there are still things out there to discover from a toy line that is that old
WOW! I used to have that figure and always wondered what the story was. The only information I was ever given was that he was the Planet of the Apes Astronaut...which I knew was incorrect. Now I wish I still had the figure! Thanks for posting a video answering this decades old question!
He's our version of Wonder Bread He-Man. Now both mysteries are solved.

Kinda cool how these mysteries exist (and are being solved) in many of the action figure “families”: Mego, MOTU, and for GI Joe fans, the origins of the Action Force “gray Flash” were recently uncovered as well. What’s next?! 😳
i love it when a figure/toy mystery is solved, honestly would buy a repro of Sky Guy
You're Like The Indiana Jones Of Toys! EXCELLENT!!! 😉
I remember that video! I'm glad you finally got the mystery toy solved!! So now does the hunt begin for the parachute backpack???
I don't know if you remember, but I shared that we, my brother and myself found him at the swap shop flea market in Fort Lauderdale in the mid to late 70s along with Kojak figures packaged the same way, the Kojak figure came with all accessories, very cool and thank you
So serendipitous!! Great ep!!
Another Mego mystery solved! Thanks Brian great work!
Too Cool Mystery Solved. Excellent news.
Awesome! Schaper-Mego.
Well done Jordan. Big congrats on your find! Jet Jungle also has blue eyes. 😉
Woooow! a great discovery! I think that was common practice of Yesteryear big toys companies producing some of the toys for smaller ones ... its a primitive form of outsourcing and keep production and molds alive. Sky Guy is here thanks to that practice. Awesome story and keep the Mego flame alive!
This has driven me crazy for a decade! Thanks Brian!!
🔍nice little mystery solved...
Man, I don't remember this particular figure but I do love the video Brian. 💯👍
Congratulations on solving this long held mystery!!
I am always so shocked when these mysteries get solved after all these years. Stuff just sitting somewhere waiting to be discovered. Thanks for this video and thanks to Jordan. I just want to clarify something. It sounds like the comment on your video saying "I just got one at the flea market" was not Jordan? That all of a sudden it's possible that two in boxes have popped into existence? If so double WOW!

While possible, it’s 99% likely the “flea market find” commenter was just a troll, especially since they didn’t reply to the followup question 🙄
Well i didn't expect this today, awesome! cheers!
DB Cooper Guy!

Ok, that was an awesome comment! 😀
Thanks so much for sharing this video. This is great news!
Amazing! I love this kind of stuff. Thanks for the video.
I love this, the solving of old mysteries. But, but, I REALLY want to know more about that SkyCrane toy! I would have killed to own that back in the day!
Well done Jordan. Jet Jungle also has blue eyes. 😉
Maybe Marty and Paul should get this set produced under the Mego brand.
Wow!!! Love this so much. Just goes to show there’s always something out there waiting to be discovered.
WOW... Legit investigative chops ! Mego Mystery solved !
Amazing! I wonder if that's the late Hal Shull's artwork on the package?

That's a good question!
Very cool!!! This was very informative.

I can't wait!!!..... but I must. A thanks in advance.
awesome ,nice to know i have a skyguy figure ,it once crossed my mind he was a pilot or sky diver ,something to do with avation ,the syguy i got was in the plastic baggie ,no price tag though .makes you wonder how many skyguys survived his jump out there .thanx for sharing
What a fantastic video! Thanks for sharing on the channel Kudos to all involved in solving this Great job
What happens when Marty watches this or hears about this? This is a satisfying result to the mystery.
that was real cool.
Cool figure
i have had so many figures that i never knew what they were until the internet, mostly robots that are KO or from an obscure Japanese robot animation that never made it to America, but the toy did.
I saw this guy in a baggy on the cheap toys rotating display at our neighbourhood newsagent here in Melbourne, Australia in the mid 1970s and desperately wanted him for the helmet. Why? Because I wanted my Action Jackson (beardless version) to become an astronaut. I never got him because my mother didn't see my need for a second 8-inch guy in blue jumpsuit.
👍
It’s a DB Cooper action figure!
Robert Stack would be proud!
Marty will probably be glad to hear about this solved mystery.
Now the next mystery, Brian: Do any pictures exist of Marty where his hair looks less than magnificent? Shame that we never got to see a throwdown between SkyGuy and Tobor. Thanks for nothing, Schaper!
The figure in the pic with the parts displayed has his head twisted around Linda Blair style 😅
Could it have just been a small regional toy? As in produced, but only sold in Minnesota?
Skyguy... at last, now we truly understand the origin of Anakin Skywalker!😉
Sky Guy looks a lot like Robert Conrad.
