Meghan and Harry are desperately trying to be RIVAL royal family to save image - US tours are next
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle are desperately trying to be rivals to the royal family to save their image, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just returned to the US after a three-day tour of Nigeria.
The Sussexes kicked off their “faux-Royal tour” with a visit to Lightway Academy, a primary and secondary school in the country's capital.
They then visited Nigeria’s defence HQ on Friday to meet military wives and senior officials.
The following day Harry was snapped playing volleyball, before Meghan referred to Nigeria as “my country”.
Many royal fans were quick to point out the similarities between their trip and an official royal tour.
And now a royal expert says he believes “an alternative royal family is emerging”.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show with Matt Wilkinson, Gareth Russell said: “To all intents and purposes that is a real possibility."

The Invictus Games were hosted by London in 2014, Orlando in 2016, Toronto in 2017, The Netherlands in 2020, Dusseldorf in 2023 and will be in Vancouver in 2025. Maybe you need to speak to Biden or whoever is your next President but, as you can see, 3 of the host countries so far are neither the UK or in the Commonwealth. And Orlando is the USA.
Their popularity in the U.S. is low because we see their "game" for what it is.

And besides, she didn't wear her seat belt. Andrew is NOT a working member of the RF and has NO royal duties. Princess Diana is still highly respected for her humanitarian work, I will never forget her holding an AIDs baby and walking along a cleared pathway through a minefield. They may be trying but are not succeeding. Anyone who thinks that this event was successful sets a very low bar. The visit to Nigeria was a shoddy affair, inapropriate dress, public dressdown by an ininsulted teacher, no dignitaries except the chief of staff of Defense, not even the Minister, hired actors seen before in other foreign visits, self aggrandizing word salads, bad local press. Sad that certain British commentators who dislike the Prince of Wales try to play up the Sussexes, it will not work, people know what's up
