@@martinmaier352 David was losing to the winner on every part of the route. Time gab was about a minute by the glacier exit and about 4 minutes by the end of the track. True, Damien had little disturbance from other riders but i think his experience of the track matters much more.

If you hadn't slid down the first slope. Avoided the fallen riders really well.
I was looking for an electric bike for my kid and got this. I must say that was impressive. That chap in black was your nemesis, you clearly had more power but he got you on the technical parts. Congratulations! - Now I need to find that bike for my kid.

This year was my first (and probably last) attempt at the Mega- aged 63. I just wanted to make it through to one of the infinity races but after a brutal qualifying race on the Friday I had to withdraw from the main event. Great ride and great video!

After watching the video from the winner, I came here to see the race actually had some other bikes. That guy just crushed it.
You've been amazing on the snow!
Literally this video is good for headache.
Awesome ride, I was cheering for you all the way! Really intense, great result!
I'm exhausted just watching this...
Anyone else thinking that the end of the route seems quite anticlimatic for such a race? I mean, the home straight is a boring thin track in the shadow sqeezed between a metal fence and some warehouse, and then the finish line is around the corner in some parking lot. Given the epicness of the start, shouldnt there be something a bit grander at the end?
@Farmboy1544
5 жыл бұрын
And now that you mention that, yes. The finish line is boring. Plus there was nobody there to cheer on the finishers. Consider that there is a helicopter and music at the start. Very little fan fare at the end.
@dcamp29

I think it's all based on logistics- it ends in a nice park (er in the park's parking lot) in the center of a small town. There is a bus stop 2 blocks away to pick you up and shuttle riders back up to the ski village. Also- they maximize the descending- you are literally at the bottom of a massive valley so the route stops there.

@@dcamp29 - Did you hurt your hand when you hit that tree on the switch back about 2/3 of the way down? You said something about not being able to pull your brakes.
@dcamp29

@@td_kdname5197 I was having bad arm-pump (grip strength was running out) and couldn't pull the brakes hard enough to make the turn- so I hit the tree. Luckily it didn't hurt my hand or shoulder too bad.

...and your first mega, you're amazing bro
You are very good...great to watch💙
I've been watching a lot of these videos this week and I like this one best. I like that you actually speak and breathe. These other people are so silent in their videos it's weird, like bike riding zombies. I hope you've upgraded to a cam with better stability functions since this race though :)
Awesome video my dude. Wry cool I love how you motivate yourself while riding and you can tell how competitive you are when passed by other riders. Future videos. Any chance you can edit. Like maybe put on the screen what place you are in when passing someone just for the viewers. Also maybe a top speed on screen. Again just see we can get a feel how fast you are going and what place you are in. Thanks for the upload my dude. 👍🏼 Awesome job
Keep it tight Dave. Keep it together. Awesome!

Fascinating how much power you were able to get out of your body. You can clearly hear how you were driving on your limit most of the time.

Very well deserved placement my man! Sucks you didn't start a bit farther ahead than you did thought... All that passing wasn't good for your placing but meh, you crushed it anyway! Also.. HEY BABE!
Very good line choice!!!!
Really fun(ny) beginning. Had to stop the video once you got to the rocky biome as I started to get nauseous. Maybe stabilization software next time?
This was Kool!!
Looks tiring and dangerous..but really fun. At the start its absolute chaos..awesome
beautiful
bravo pour le courage!
I have watched far too many of these already and I can tell you that a lot of these guys need to learn a bit about slipstream distances. Watch some road race examples. At 21:20 ish you see this guy using it and then get overtaken by a guy who was doing it better. You want to be half a bikes length from the guy in front of you and if they are doing it to the guy in front of them and the guy in front of them is doing it too you won't even need to peddle on the flats - so you'll save yourself for the hills and blast past everyone. Great job. I probably couldn't do what you guys do, even with the theory behind me. Keep it up!
As for me, the video for 14th place is way more interesting than that for 1st place because there are lot of pursuits in front of the camera )
This is probably his best day omg!
Nice Race!

Brilliant run pal… just about to buy a bike that can cope with a proper beating then I’m going next year to have a go myself…
Dam dude! You are a machine! Did you train hard at cardio fitness for the event. I am looking at doing it this year of possible. Great job !
@dcamp29
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I trained super hard for this and a few other races that summer. You need a lot of fitness as there is 1000 feet of CLIMBING on the course. Also you need to train for arm pump- as in grip strength. I did but still needed more- I hit a tree near the end of the race because I couldn't pull the brake levers hard enough!
That takes some big cahoonies
This is awesome. I've just learned of these races, looks ridiculously fun. What was starting elevation?
@dcamp29
5 жыл бұрын
Yes- most fun races ever. Starting elevation on this one is over 10,000ft/3,300m. Ending is somewhere around 2,000ft/700m.
