Big time. The studios went on the cheap for the entire MCU. Transformers CGI has hardly aged at all. The mix of real world and CGI in TF is still unmatched except possibly for Alita BA that is a completely different setup.

I really love the Decepticons response to one another. The Cybertrontian-language subtitle then its translation. Also, each had a unique range and tone, both cryptic and legendary.

I also say the 1st film has the best soundtrack. The 1st film of a planned series is typically the best but the following 2 got better and I think that's why 1-3 are favorites here on youtube. Now... years later Some people complain there are too many... but no one is forcing them to watch... they should just shut the fuck up....

While the Decepticons are cryptic-like sound, the Autobots would probably be more... I don't know, maybe sacred like or something else better in definition. But, I'm glad to hear someone's opinion, pal. 😘😉😉😉😍😊😊 Anyways, I didn't expect from people that some actually like Transformers 1-3, I'm also certain not many people like it. I always thought people hate the overall franchise because either it's not what they wanted or it's so unlike the G1 series, and they wanted it to be that way. Sorry and sad to say, not only I love the first Trilogy, but I also like Transformers 4-5 (my opinion) as well. To any haters who dislike and that could be you as well, I respect your opinion. What you've described is a major component in the believability of any foreign species in filmmaking, alien or otherwise. Why would aliens speak English to themselves? Even if they know it, its definitely not their native tongue. Modern filmmakers are too lazy to go through the stress if creating language structures as was done in star wars and LOTR

Honestly, a lot of credit has to go to Michael Bay himself. The VFX teams are absolutely brilliant but the man clearly has an ability to put on the "CGI" goggles to see just how things will look in a real environment for a scene and what information he needs to capture for the artists to do their magic.

4:08 Geez Megatron truly is evil, he can’t even show the least bit of gratitude to Starscream for knocking out most of the power so he’d get unfrozen.

The Last Knight was much better than Age of extinction. The plot and action was coherent and at least made some sense. It is not possible to remember what happened the last 40 minutes of AOE except the last 5 minutes. Also they got rid of terrible characters like Tessa and Shane...

Teach D.Berainman I agree with you on some parts, the transformers should have gotten more screen time, at least AOE did that right (although that lasted too long). The new female character was obviously light dressed like every female character in Bay’s movies, but at least I find her to have something important to do and she did a good job. Rosie in Dotm and Tessa in AOE was way worse. I found Quintessa interesting since they stated that she was the creators of the transformers and Optimus Prime (the knights said she was a deciever so it’s not certain she was). Her motivations was very cliche-like, to destroy the world and crush Cybertron on it, use the main protagonist against them. But she could be developed more. I’m just glad they didn’t totally dump Optimus storyline from AOE. Also Nemesis Prime should have done more damage. Obviously they still want the transformers movie to be fun light-hearted stuff but they had so much they could do. And lastly I think Last Knight had more interesting human characters than AOE. Anthony Hopkins does a fun job, and he deliveres speeches about transformers history that only he can. I felt engaged when they followed him in his castle and through London. Also the young girl also did a good job, but I wish we could follow her more in the middle section. I feel many people was tired of Cade Yeager. The CGI and visual effects is visually stunning and top notch despite what anyone says. I also think the set pieces was more creative and better like the first movies. The final battle on the big submarine was good. In AOE they just destroyed the whole Hong Kong with robots exploding and shooting and it felt rushed. Anyway the movie got bashed by the critics as usual, and this was the worst movie of the franchise considering the box office numbers. But I still think this movie had the best potential, and although I reckon it’s flaws I still enjoy it in a good home theathre.

I thought that was what happened to be honest. When Bee shrunk the cube, notice there was a spark that connected him to it. I always thought that was why his voice got fixed at the end when he asked Optimus to remain with Sam. Maybe his voice box was slowly repairing the whole time he prioritized to protect the cube and get it to safety? I don't know. I just find it odd why his voice box just remained broken after it was confirmed fixed in this movie's ending.

hellowhat890 there were a series of comics that were released after this that WERE!!!! Canon at first, one showed how bumblebee arrived on earth a few weeks before the start of the movie (as opposed to what 5 showed us) and another showed how Starscream was taken prisoner by humans, bumblebee freed him, and as thanks starscream shot a missile at his face 🤷🏽‍♂️

I KNOW.... that also with Optimus transforming at about 100 MPH on the highway.... Both are truly original and creative scenes.

Absolutely love the four "ping" sounds when he transforms. I also like how some of the noises he make sound a lot like predatory animals.

Maybe in films, but there's a better one in Tf Prime, s1 ep14 - Bumblebee is possessed by Megatron and he fights him mentally, while Ratchet and Raff try to stop him from reaching Megatron's body and reviving him, but he succeeds, his eyes go red from black and says: "Decepticons, your rightful Lord and master has returned!", then he leaves Bee and Ratchet for vehicons to kill and goes to beat the crap out of Starscream for the betrayal.

First minute of this scene is a great representation of tyrese Gibson’s “why do the decepticons always get the good shit”

Ah the good days (2000s) when fictional aliens were made as alieny aliens. I mean look at them: alien languages, aliens being smart enough to hack stuff, aliens having high-tech, aliens having long range weapons and not stormtrooper aim to render their long range weapons harmless, aliens with "invisible force fields", aliens having brain-scanning tech like in ROTF, aliens having spaceships, aliens could teleport, aliens being smart enough to have disguises and sneak attacks, aliens actually being feared by humans, aliens actually being hard to kill and most of all aliens actually being smart enough to pose threats. Nowadays most alien antagonists, even the technologically advanced ones, are made to look thick so as to give the good guys advantages over them.

Ya... the pressure is always on with the 1st of a planned series of films. They knew Bay would deliver... and he certainly did as he had a passion for this series in particular. But, when he was ready to move on the studios were not... So it all went to shit after that. It is rumored that Bay purposely make the films after T3 shitty or just didn't care..... Personally I really liked Age of extinction... We got to see the dynobots and the buildup to Lockdown was well written... he was a Really Good Villain (as others have pointed out)...

I always thought this was the best change the Bay movies made (particularly the first one). In other TF media, the Cybertronians' alien nature isn't usually emphasized very heavily. 2007 TF made them feel like a serious and unknowable threat. I hate that aliens always speak English in Hollywood movies, it's the most annoying thing about the MCU and other similar superhero franchises. In TF 2007 not only was a reason given for them learning English (basically downloading the entire Internet into their brains), but they also had their own alien language. It added so much believability to their otherworldly nature. Also, like you said, the way their technology was depicted as being so far beyond our own gave me chills as a kid. The scene of Blackout attacking the military base is legitimately terrifying!

3:56 love that you can’t hear fear in Star-screams voice, he just sounds so badass and menacing! Makes him feel like a more levelheaded second in command.

Megatron was WAY underplayed in the entire series... He's basically a side show. He should have been going at it with prime a lot more...

Megatron's initial design was fire. So much attachment to the classic g1 version with modern twists.

Say what you will about movies like transformers. But, I remember how entertained packed crowds were to this film. We saw it on opening night, and the audience clapped when megatron made his introduction.

Now that I look at the only autobot we’ve seen talk in Cybertronian is Optimus. I wish it was more common amongst the autobots too

Bumblebee movie doesn’t feel the same, it lost its merit after 2011. It’s all pragmatic and stale, the bumblebee movie isn’t bad, but I loath that it’s appealing to a more your demographic in dichotomy with both old and young.

He was actually frozen for about over 12,000 years so yes that’s a long time

I remember being a kid (around 5 or so) when I first saw this scene with megatron and being scared shitless of him breaking free. I would sometimes hide under my blanket 😂

As a kid, I remember getting chills when I imagine Megatron chasing me through a building like he did with Sam. "I smell you, boy!"

Bayformers had so much potential and this movie really set up the future installations to be incredible. So sad to see the rest of the movies fall flat.

I’ve always loved Megatron’s jet form.

Honestly bonecrusher devastator and blackout really made this movie amazing. All 3 of them are so amazing to witness

This version of Megatron was an absolute menace and the CGI was way ahead of it's time.

Megatron was a pompous, arrogant PoS but he was a patriot too, all he wanted was Cybertron back....

The last time Megatron was truly threatening, intimidating all for himself and not a lackey of someone else (the fallen, sentinel prime, quintessa, etc)

3:50 i have repeating this scene for a thousand times one of the most epic transformation

i like that the bayverse kept the creepy rapsy voice for screamer for the sake of originality but in my personal opinion his voice in this movie is a perfect blend of creepy/intimidating

@A E yeah but that was like her only shot... I think they used it in the trailer as well because it's a pretty hot shot. Actually she looked really good in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She 1st appears as a blond... I didn't recognize her and I was like "Damn who's the new stuff? ". Then the whole school girl thing topped it off. I think that was Bay's way of making it up to her after she got fired unfairly. She had made some comments about Bay that Bay didn't give a shit about (obvious now) but the producer had a problem it so he had her fired.

Sentinel prime would've shat his pants if he were to face this megatron

Sentinel Prime is Unicron the same guy that he wants to rebuild Cybertron but he wants to destroy Primus as well he's a god I don't think Megatron can defeat Unicron and and neither is Sentinel Prime that are the same guy the only one who can defeat Sentinel Prime that is Unicron is Optimus Prime that's it.

Megatron was frozen for 2000 years and didn't even stutter upon waking up. He just immediately got back to his mission. Steve Rogers should take notes.

Hugo weaving and Frank welker both played a great voice of megatron

This first Transformers movie was a masterpiece.

I always feel sorry for Hugo Weaving in Transformers movies. His performance as Megatron is underrated. I believe he fitted movie Megatron better than Frank Welker did. Welker is the perfect animated Megatron.

This scene always gives me goosebumps this was perfectly done

Two of my favourite quotes in Bay verse transformers “I. Am. MEGATRON!” And the one which always makes me laugh a bit “You fail me yet again Starscream”

Someone else made a point of his 1st line in that for centuries he was frozen but could hear humans calling him NBE-1 ... so he had to correct that shit straight away..

0:48 the use of that repeated shot of barricade is implying that barricade has been driving down that one particular road for the entire movie

The way he flew outta there was so badass!!!!!

Say what you want about any of the other transformer movies but this one is a gem of a movie

Definitely... since that year there has been Constant World Crisis of all sorts... a new one every day the world is Constant Crisis... As of now.... 2021 the word "Crisis" has been a constant in every major news broadcast for over 20 years... And for the last 18 months ... the word "Surge" is in Every NBC broadcast at least twice ( usually more )...

Even if this film is regarded as a bad film overall by general consensus, it was one of my favourites of the time in terms of soundtrack, CGI, and battles. It was a real gem to my childhood self.

@@Thrawn23. Generally the Bay Transformers movies are not well received by critics (look at rotten tomatoes scores as an example), that is what I meant.Point is, I still enjoyed them, this scene I have seen many times and loved this movie when I was a kid.

Well... according to the cartoon series which most are famaliar with... StarScream was always looking to take over leadership of the decepticons... aside from that we don't see much of him in this series... I thought Way too much was spent on Ioronhyde ... who was pretty boring... I've mentioned before... a straight up R-Rated Tranformers horror film would totally kick ass..

I love that the all spark can create transformers out of basically anything technogical, but i hate that everything it spawns is automatically a decepticon.

I wake up every morning proclaiming I Am Megatron.

3:19 obvs for plot reason I know, but considering Megatron was frozen in solid ice at the time, could BumbleBee not have just walked into the same lair as Megatron and blow his head off with his cannons before He re-awoken? Then all the Autobots would of had left would be Starscream, Barricade, the tank thing, blackout, and bonecrusher. Had the story played that way, I reckon the fight scene would of been a little different. Optimus gets seperated by Bonecrusher. Starscream takes command as Decepticon leader. They arrive in Metropolis and Jazz, Ironhide, and Rachet defeat TANK. Starscream lands and takes charge of the fight as He is the one that grabs Jazz and rips Him in half. Optimus arrives and battles Starscream. Meanwhile Ironhide and Ratchet battle Blackout and Tank meaning they protect Sam more easily. Bublebee on tow truck blasts tank down leaving just Blackout and Starscream. Starscream cowards in battle with Optimus and His Human allies and flies away. Ironhide and Ratchet battle Blackout and Prime jumps in slashing Blackout in half. Battle ends.

I doubt Megatron could be killed by two of bumblebee's cannons he survived crashing into the arctic thousands of years ago, and an airstrike at the end of the film

He could do that, however look at the fight between Megatron and Optimus. If Optimus Prime, Megatron's 'equal in this movie, is having that much trouble even lightly hurting Megatron then how is Bumblebee, a run-of-the-mill scout supposed to kill him? At best it would just wake Megatron up, at worst it pisses off Megatron who kills him, takes the Allspark and takes over the Earth.

Megatron survived an airstrike, getting shot by Bumblebee wouldn’t have done anything, Brawl took multiple shots from it before finally dying.

"where is the cube?!" "uhh you mean roblox?" "no you idiot its minecraft!, you failed me yet again starscream get em!"
