I have diawa tatula 7'9" heavy mod-fast rated 1-6oz . I have had very good luck with it. Have no problem setting 8/0& 10/0 beast hooks for soft baits & it's been pretty decent for glide baits too. It moderate enough to keep them pinned very well. It a good balance for anyone doesn't have budget for multiple swimbait rods. I'm sure I'll eventually get a better glide bait rod but for now I'm content & confedent with hard & soft baits in the 6-10" range. Biggest bait I've thrown on it is 10" magdrafts & it handles them surprisingly well, it's sweat spot is 2.5-4oz

Love the vids. Question regarding throwing a 250 or that 6oz class of bait. You talked about preferring the Leviathan or Blackjack and I imagine it's for their versatility to throw some smaller baits as well. If only fishing a 250 or 6oz baits, would looking for a USA Destroyer Onager be worth it or do you still prefer the Blackjack and Leviathan for those baits? I don't see myself throwing anything bigger than 6.5 oz

It's the conventional rod that enabled me to start throwing Swimbaits. Small wakes and glides, 6in magdrafts.... it's responsible for my swimbait obsession and the reason I shucked out the cash for a TS Destroyer Black Jack. It's every bit as good as everyone says and then some. Megabass knows how to make some of the best performing rods in the world... can't praise them enough!

I’m just getting into the swimbaits im building one for the slideswimmer 250. I picked up the new 8 ft northfork mod fast X-ray c602 x heavy epitome. Have you heard of them? Was wondering how to build it up from someone with experience. It’s a 2.9 oz blank with a butt size of only .58 so going to keep it light with the American tackle g2 grips and probably a cct reel seat I’m thinking. Would love some feedback if you have any knowledge with this in mind and how long of a rear grip would be appropriate. I see guys with them tucked under their arms. I typically build 12 “ from the trigger to the butt but those are on the blanks I’m throwing around 2.5 oz lures(808 neo blank) this is a step up and would like to get it right. Thanks any feedback would be appreciated ty.

Great content guys! I really love your videos. You have sold me on Megabass rods (the Levantes in particular) and I plan on setting up my tournament lineup with them (as well as the Daiwa Rebellions, also thanks to you guys). But dang. I think you might need to think smaller in terms of "small" swimbaits. Wouldn't something like a 3in, 1/8th-1/4oz be considered a small swimbait? That's just what I've always thought, but I would love to hear your input. Thanks!

@@thehookuptackle_usa I should have said a dedicated jerkbait rod. Cause I do have plenty 110 and others, but I typically throw them on my spinning setup. As for swim baits, I have the 1-2oz covered and really need something for the 3-5oz range. Don’t think I’ll get much bigger than that, but maybe in a year or two. Anyway I’ve been debating on getting the Levante jerkbait special of the leviathan sb?! Either Rod I’ll be ordering from you, just trying to figure out what one to get now. Maybe you can suggest what I choose?! I much more invested in jerkbait, so I’ve been leaning that way, but I also am fine throwing on my spinning rod(just a bit long at 7’2) I don’t own any swim baits over 2oz, but mainly because I don’t have the rod for them

What are the chances someone makes a composite swim bait rod that has a fiberglass tip section with graphite mid and butt section. I'm asking because I already have the blanks and I'm considering building my own swim bait rod. I like how sensitive they are while being powerful enough and thick at the bottom for lots of grip and leverage. The fiberglass tip section is forgiving, but not too forgiving, while being very durable. If they make one like that, I'm ordering one, because these blanks are hard to come by. Sorry, but I'm gonna keep the blank mfg a secret.
