Longplay of game Quackshot - Starring Donald Duck for Mega Drive/Genesis.
One day Donald was stirring in the ancient books of the library of Uncle Scrooge, while the old man took a nap. He eventually found a book that talked about a lost treasure of a King Garuzia, that before you go to the beyond, hid all his wealth in a mysterious place. Fortunately for Donald inside the book he finds a map that seems to indicate the location where the fortune of the King of Garuzia is hidden! This was the perfect opportunity to Donald get as rich as Scrooge! As it was in a total state of euphoria, Donald did not notice that one of the henchmen of the infamous Pete watched it all, and of course, the wrongdoer would not let your boss know without this coveted treasure.
Donald joins his three nephews (Huey, Dewey and Louie), and all depart on a small plane to seek treasure, even with Daisy warning that they would be late for dinner. Before leaving, Donald promises his girlfriend that she is preparing for a very special surprise. With the following their destination tickets, Pete and his band observe everything and plan a way to prevent the duck reaches the coveted treasure, while they can possess it in place of Donald and and his nephews.
The game follows a "metroidvania" style and while you can choose the player reaches a point where it has to go back to another stage to get specific items. Donald Duck, in a clear homage to Indiana Jones goes on an adventure exploring the style and uses a gun that can shoot plungers, bubbles and popcorn. Various Disney characters are present in this classic. A good Disney game, deserved a remake in HD like Ducktales gained a Ducktales Remastered. -

Child curiousity + trial and error - brute forcing their way into life since forever. :)) I still remember how I used to trial and error that viking ghost ship level. It was confusing to navigate, but eventually I've managed to map the structure in my memory and find the exit. The Hindi-themed level was a nightmare though. The only thing that kept me going was, getting confused by the flute and bitten by that snake... xD Quackshot is one amazing game, even today. It was an excellent attempt at asymmetrical level design.

This games reminds me of a friend I used to know who had a Genesis (I had an SNES at the time). Whenever I went over to his house this was one of the games he played. Although he is no longer around the memory of this game still reminds me of the good times we had in a simpler time.

Wow...unbelievable...I'm reading this 4 years after your post here. If you don't mind I'd also like to share something. I also had a friend, really good friend who on the first day we met, he said he would go over my house on drop off some NES games so me and my brother could play. Again, he said that on the very first day we met. We all became good friends and stuff and he was a reaaally good player. He beat all of his games. I'm talking about approximately 25 years ago when internet wasn't around and he never ever used magazines. So one day, he said, I'm gonna let you borrow this great game Battletoads (NES) so that you can play....After a couple of days, i said: Marcelo, this game is very difficult. He came by our house and beat the game in front of me and my older brother. Bonus? he beat it with no deaths at all. He was such a meticulous player. When I tell people that my friend beat the game without losing any lives, people still don't believe me. Unfortunately he's no longer with us, but every time I look at games here on youtube, it also reminds me of the good time me, him and my brother had. R.I.P. Marcelo!

Its homage to the Indiana Jones franchise was done beautifully, and really captured the adventurous essence of the series. Awesome to see elements from The Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade included in the game. I didn't notice any specific references to The Raiders of the Lost Ark, but if anyone else noticed any, please let me know.

But i was still pretty much confined to my bed. I had to stay at my grandparents house because they had an actual bed. At home my bed was the couch heh. So i stayed in bed and played video games. My parents had bought me Sonic and Knuckles for making it through the surgery and this was one of many games that they rented for me. This was before robotic doctor arms made heart surgery a simple procedure, they had to crack open my rib cage. Broken ribs are no joke. That stuff hurts yo.

I used to rent this at a video store down the street called Sight and Sound, and ultimately bought their rental copy when they were selling it in the mid 90s. As a kid I played World of Illusion a lot more since I already owned it for a few years and actually managed to beat it several times. I'd struggle with Quackshot, however (I don't think I ever beat the Viking Ship boss as a kid) but yesterday, I finally sat down and beat the entire game after dying COUNTLESS times on the Island stage.

As a kid, i managed to reach hideout only to get the game froze on me, the poor old genesis was so overheated due to the amount of hours it take me to even reach that far. There was not even a password system! So if you ever turn it off it was back to square one. I still remember how mad i got, It was right here 39:44. Years later i had my sweet revenge when i beat it through emulators. Anyway, great longplay and great game, but so friggin hard.

Loved this game back in the day. Probably my favorite Genesis game, actually. I'd love to see a re-master/ update of this game ala DuckTales. Updated graphics and sound, more complex boss battles. maybe throw in a few hidden treasures and secrets, etc. I really like the design of the Viking boss. When I was younger, I remember thinking it was kind of creepy, but in a good way.

This game was fantastic, but i find hilarious when ppl say that back then games offered better value for the price. Most games i had for my Nes, Snes and Megadrive could be completed in less than one hour. Today games with 100+ hours of gameplay are common. Nostalgia does blinb many people!

Paulo Lameiras. They aren't common though. Most games are not 100 plus hours long, You are thinking of popular Rpg games and yet they are actually not that common compared to other genres in gaming. Most Fps shooters can be completed in 6 hours even on the hardest difficulty because hard games now and hard games then are planets apart. I still prefer old games because I used strategy and trial and error to win. That's not to say that I hate new games but I prefer the old ones. I actually enjoyed Oblivion more than Skyrim so the new games vary.

Old comment I know but although old games are short, they're difficult to complete and took hours to learn the mechanics. Look at Mario Bros in original famicom, people still play it and try to get the best time out of it till this day.

Turbo Gear777 The games of old are made as though the games of new. You guys just grew up with them, and thus, remember them fondly. Subjectivity is easily tricked. Anything that lines up with a person's character, the more they do so, the more they'd like. Objectively speaking, many games back then fell victim to the developers ot bothering to even try putting in proper thought, the same sort of attitude many developers of this day have. Many won't notice. however. since subjectivity is easily tricked. Games like Quackshot and Sonic the Hedgehog are made by those who actually bothered to try putting in proper thought. This is why they pale in comparison to many other games, including those of their era. (Fun fact: Some games back then, RPG's notably, are as big back then as they are now.)

Uhm nope most games that offer 100+ of gameplay have boring gameplay and basically introduce grindfest or clickbait mechanic. The thing is that most games of that time were harder and gave the feel of achievement when you completed them. Not to mention that there were some interesting concepts and some experimental stuff while nowadays devs have to follow the proven formula and make the conveyor stuff or go indy.

The music, I swear, reminds me of old school Taito arcade games. Perhaps they used the same soundfont for the Genesis in most Taito arcades back in the late 80s. Look at games like New Zealand Story, Flippul (Plotting in the western market), Tube It, and many others.
