They ALWAYS laid eggs....lol, but whenever something really good is released on whatever the system, your looking out for their next big game, and when it drops a 💩💩 it's a bummer. Most impressive game on the Genesis (Mega Drive) to date. Pseudo 3D graphics on the Genesis wasn't really common and the whole game is like this so it is pretty great game to show what the Genesis is capable of.

Surprising the smoothness of the animations and characters in this game

Never saw half of this game as a kid, seemed so difficult then. Nice play through! 😁

5:50 interesting to me that Woody's victory dance is identical to the one from the movie but from a different angle. I guess Pixar must have sent Tt a different render of it to work off!

Incredible game the graphics are absolutely incredible for the Mega Drive especially the dog chase level in Sid's House and claw machine. Not to mention this version has the exclusive driving level that wasn't on the Snes version due to hardware limitations.

No it actually couldn't due to it's slower cpu it could have if they used a super FX chip but it was extremely rare that a 3rd party developer used any additional chips on the cart.

But this is more 3D than F zero as F Zero is mode 7 also Mario Kart had an add on chip DSP1 on the cart.

One of the best games based on a movie in my opinion. This and Toy Story 2 were some of the best platformers made as well!

For a Sega Genesis game, this one includes some of the best graphics ever! I mean, the game is entirely in 2.5D, but damn...these graphics pre-date 3D platforms! Am I seeing a modernized Sega Saturn game?! 🤯 Oh and yes, this version includes the deleted driving stage from the Super Nintendo version. It wasn't included in that version due to limitations with the hardware.

I did! I was 8 years old when this came out. The key was to collect as many stars as you could. I remember crying because me and my brother would take turns and he wouldn't get those damn stars and we would lose haha

Toy Story hasn't been ported to PlayStation and that's frustrating for me. Also, Sega Genesis was on a decline in its sales due to Sega Saturn, for the latter of which the game was also not ported.

Every time Disney made a game in the early to mid 90s it was always better on the genesis, other games like Mickey mania are great examples as well.

One of the most impressive games of all time IMO.

Toy story 1 in SEGA and Toy Story 2 on PS were the true nostalgia of my childhood.

I remember my grandfather took me to see the film when it first came out and then my dad bought me the game when it got released. Hell I still have my copy still with it’s original box from 1995

This could pass for a PlayStation game! If I ever had the chance to play this when I was a kid. I would be blown away!

One of the best looking platforms for Genesis. The original Toy Story movie was a masterpiece.

Probably the most difficult game of all time. And the life system is unforgiving. Always thought it was impossible to beat.

This is probably one of the best looking, if not THE best mega drive game graphically. The cutscene images are incredible, the pre rendered sprites look great.. Travellers Tales really knew how to utilise the Mega Drive to it’s full potential

Revenge of the toys is my favorite track so far when I play the game

Holy crap I remember when this came out.. The graphics were mindblowing! Nothing will ever beat this we thought.. Ha!

Put so many hours into this game. Can definitely remember getting frustrated very often. Such a memorable game though. Watched this and remembered every level.

The end credits theme are my favourite soundtrack of the game.

Fun fact: in the Pizza Planet level called "Food and Drink", the straw from Woody's soda cup's lid is missing.

@@lucasparnell9043 Gamehut is made by Jon Burton; who was one of the producers for many Lego and Disney games like Mickey Mania and such. I didn’t even know he was Gamehut till I looked up stuff on Google, his personal channel, and the games that he is responsible for with many other people. It is fascinating that he and many other people regardless of competition have made such impactful content.

Even though I’m more of a Nintendo fan, I still played the shit out of this game when I was younger, hell I even remember seeing toy story in theatres back in 1995

A friend of mine had it back in the day...loved it so much!!! This game is awesome

I always used to find the earlier levels surprisingly difficult, but I absolutely loved the pizza planet level!!!

This is one of the games I'm glad that a) I ended up getting as a random gift back in '96, and b) I'm glad I held on to after all of these years. I can't remember how many hours, days, weeks etc. I spent playing the hell out of this game. Although I admit, it used to kick my butt..... I think the furthest I ever got in the game, before this year anyway (and I can't remember the last time I tried playing it before this year, probably sometime between 2000 and 2010), was the first Sid's Bedroom/House stage, basically the first stage after the claw-machine stage. I was always curious what the differences there are (if any) between this version and the Super Nintendo version, so I'll probably have to get the SNES version someday. Either way, a film-based game done right. If I had any complaints, they would just be minor nitpicks. Mostly how they made stages out of short segments or scenes in the film, although I think the biggest would be the controls for the RC car..... but even so, I've mastered controlling the RC car mostly.

Fun Fact: The Nightmare Buzz boss battle is actually a recreation of a part that was cut from the actual movie. As a kid, I obviously never would’ve guessed that was the case, but, learning that AS AN ADULT, that’s actually really cool. I wanted to bring that up, because I never actually see anyone mention it. You learn something new every day, after all!

Still one of the most technically impressive games for the Mega Drive.

The game is so FRICKN' HARD!!

The stage designs were novel and creative to say the least.

The game can be played in an hour, and it once seemed to be eternal to beat the game.

I love Toy Story

I love how the Genesis actually plays music and has little pictures during the cutscenes 9:25 I do wish the movie had this part. Woody having a nightmare about Buzz. Oh wait they did, but they cut it out
