Same. I would be the biggest foster failure of history and just hoard them all. I really wish I could do this but letting them go to their forever homes (plus the fact that you can’t save them all) would be unbearable for me. My cat was born with a deformed front foot and we had to get a toe removed, and now he grabs things like a human. It’s so cute 🥰 (he did very well with the surgery btw!)

Chickpea has got to be the cutest little pea in the garden 🥰

I saved a kitten off of the streets a couple of weeks ago. He was feral and I didn't have a towel or anything so I got bit 3 times. Good news is he is healthy and happy now.

My mom rescued a tiny grey kitten. She found it when taking our dog, Parker. She went towards the cat, and she found her. She had eye problems and needed eye drops, she also had worms. We fed her, and took her to the vet. It took a bit until we were comfortable with letting her meet the other cats. She is the floofiest baby ever. Her name is Gracie. Also the only cat we adopted is very playful. She has extra toe beans, and that’s why she’s called Polly, because she’s a polydactyl. Which means more toe beans to squish.

I'm not going to lie, I would die for this kitten.

I keep coming back to watch this over and over again! Chickpea is so incredibly cute and beautiful it is beyond belief, but what is more stunning is her personality! Even before she's taken out of the box she's making tiny happy little biscuits! And so relaxed! Just watching her Foster Mom and Dad with big beautiful eyes like "Hi I'm Chickea! The happiest Baby in the world! I bring joy and love wherever I go!" ❤️😻

A preemptive congratulations to whatever lucky son-of-a-gun gets to take Chickpea home forever! This kitten is so adorable.

I’ve only known Chickpea for 9 minutes, but I will protect her with my life. Also, my family might be getting a kitten soon!

She is just the yummiest little gumdrop. So precious. 😻

That kitten is so chilled. Is this unusual for a kitten this young? Wondering if she's been well socialised previously, or if she knows she's with people who are going to care for her? There was no meowing, crying or complaining I could see...she was just being super cute and looked super relaxed. Hope she's doing great 😊

There is no such thing as socialisation with kittens this young. Most of her life so far she had no idea what was going on around her. She trusts everyone basically. And actually meowing is an indicator that the cat is socialised. Cats only meow to humans. Feral cats are the ones that don't meow at all.

@@nathanwilliams2152 She was most probably born by a homeless mother. Most foster kittens are born on the street and then found by humans. So her mother was either feral or she had owners but escaped.

@@nathanwilliams2152 all cats are feral at birth. On one of Kitten Lady's webinars she included a short clip of a newborn kitten hissing after smelling her finger for the first time. Spending time with humans at a young age gives the best results, no matter how social (or antisocial) the mom is.

@@lindaandersen5723 - thank you, that makes it a lot clearer now. It seems to be about socialisation and positive experiences with humans at a young age - I was watching Kitten Lady's videos (about saving Jimmy I think) where she said that kittens can sense when they're being cared for, or not being cared for. I'm researching how to look after kittens as much as I can, so I can start fostering them at some point, but I need to substantiate my knowledge some more, and spend some time learning key skills from a vet, and from a local organisation who takes care of kittens. With COVID-19 being so prevalent though, it's mostly limited to online upskilling. Would any shelters or organisations be willing to provide hands-on experience, or volunteering opportunities at this time do you think?
