Meeting grizzly bears on Vancouver Island
One of the things I love the most about BC is the incredible wildlife living right in our backyards. I have been fortunate enough to see our neighbourhood black bears, orcas, and mountain goats but I never thought I would be able to see grizzly bears up close and personal.
I recently joined the team at Adventure Quest Vancouver Island and Homalco First Nations Cultural Tours and we got to see the bears up close and personal. Everything from them catching salmon to playing with cubs, it was amazing. We also got a whale watching tour when we made our way over to the bears and we spotted orcas and humpbacks.

They are on Northern Vancouver Island. Although rare they are certainly here. I have personally witnessed them.
Bute Inlet is on the mainland even if it is best accessed from North Island. I don't think she knew that.

No Grizzly Bears on Vancouver Island ; except for the occasional one visiting actually
What month did you go? Hoping to go June 2022….curious what we may see.

This is at Bute Inlet on the B.C. mainland - most of the tour groups leave from the city of Campbell River located on Vancouver Island.

Its on the mainland coast. Just easier to get to from the island.
