Vancouver 2010 got a bit unique with their mascots. The character of Mukmuk was a mascot who represented the fans instead of the athletes. He’s based on a marmot, a wild rodent that can be found all over the province of BC where Vancouver is located. You may have noticed that Mukmuk doesn’t participate in any of the events and is instead in the audience cheering the other mascots on

Miga, Quatchi, Sumi and Mukmuk remains my favourite at my age of 17, I still keep them with me all the time, I miss Vancouver 2010 and I wish it came again in 2030… I can remember watching Octonauts when Meomi made Octonauts back then when I was younger. Thank you and love you tons VANOC and Meomi! You are in our thoughts, will endeavour you to remember you all everyday.

When I was 5, my dad got me a Sumi plush because I was weirdly obsessed with him while the olympics were going on. He's still sitting on my shelf and I still love these guys

Yeah he is cute. He’s not a beaver, but another type of wild rodent called a marmot. Marmots live in underground burrows and they have a powerful bite so if you ever see one, don’t touch it!

I was taken to the Olympics when I was about 3. There, my uncle bought me a MukMuk plushie. Just MukMuk. Today as a 15 year old, I still love hugging MukMuk and telling him about my day at night. Hes a part of my childhood that I wont let go and my favorite mascot. :)

Yo I had the Sumi keychain and my sister had the miga keychain. I was like six in 2010 and would watch this video religiously during the Olympics even tho I had no idea what they were

Miga, Quatchi, Sumi and Mukmuk were great mascots. They're a hard act for Wenlock and Mandeville to follow. And judging by their looks, I don't think Wenny and Mandy hold a stick to the Vancouver foursome!

8 yr old me was so incredibly fixated on these guys for no reason , i still have plushies of all of them lmao and i think that fixation is starting to come back

I love the Fact that We have the Paralympics, It brings Everyone from anywhere together, I've met a lot of people with disablilites and I am happy that they can be included with everyone else.

He’s actually a Sasquatch, a mythical hairy monster and his name is Quatchi. The Sasquatch is basically a Canadian version of Bigfoot. Canadian folklore and monster sightings also include a Nessie-like lake monster called the Ogopogo

When I lived in Kamloops I got to see the torch pass through Hillside Stadium at the Tournament Capital Centre (in the summer the CFL Football team the BC Lions train there) and I got a Sumi plush

He probably does, it’s just that he has a disability that doesn’t leave him in a wheelchair. Autism is a disability but it’s neurological so it affects the brain but not the arms and legs
