Meet the talented 6-year-old drummer already getting university attention
After Jeremiah Travis was spotted banging his toy drumsticks on the high school bleachers, the band director asked him to join the team. Now 6 years old, Jeremiah plays side-by-side with drummers nearly triple his size and has already earned a university scholarship.

Absolutely brilliant! What a gorgeous little boy.
Some people have just got ‘it,’ which is talent. Of course it takes years of hard work to become truly great at anything, including drums, but he’s already so into it that I think he’s going to pursue that on his own, and as has already been happening, the opportunities are going to keep on coming. Even if he doesn’t end up being a professional drummer, imagine what the promise of a college scholarship, for absolutely anything, effects how a kid thinks about everything he does. Suddenly math homework doesn’t seem so meaningless when you have a scholarship waiting for you. I received scholarships from both Berklee College of Music and Harvard. It didn’t drive me to be a better student than I already was, but it made it worth it compared to working so hard just for grades or a career which may never materialize.

This is amazing! He has so many big brothers now, a couch and community behind him. They will make sure he makes it to take full advantage of this scholarship. This mom must be so thankful and I'm so proud of her for not telling him to stop banging on things! She knew and that is the biggest takeaway for me as a mom. He has everything he needs to be great! Did see a dad and God said that's cool and gave him a hundred males to support him! To God be the glory!
