He sits calmly, you can tell he’s not an iPad kid. He’s reading CHAPTER BOOKS at six! He’s so well articulate for such a small age even saying thank you unprompted! Such a beautiful child, the siblings too. Go mom and dad! You are doing it right!

I know, right? My little brother just turned six, and he still cries like a baby when he doesn't get what he wants, has bad manners, and he can't sit still for a single second! I know he's only little, but sometimes I wish he were like this kid.

@Onlyzoey , get yourself the book Mercury's Child, read it, apply it. It's not the kid's fault. Misbehavior like you describe usually occurs because it works: it's getting the child attention (even if negative), energy, or what they want. Negative attention is better than no attention. Also, oftentimes good behavior (for instance, when the child calms down) is punished by scolding the child about their previous behavior when they finally behave properly. Trust me, the child can do much better if well managed.

I was reading encyclopaedia pages at age 6. If you teach your child to read at around age 3-4, and encourage them, and they see you read, by age 6 plenty can read full books. It was a school requirement when I went to school to finish at least one small chapter book by age 6-7.

It's pretty simple really. Our generation grew up reading from an early age. It was usual for a six year old to read books. We also had manners, because we were taught manners. It would be nice to see this little guy reading some of the classical kids' books. He's being pushed in a particular direction, by parents. Let him choose his direction. Don't over 'adultise' him.

Wow, this little boy's morning routine is truly inspiring! It's amazing to see how he takes the time to calm himself down, enjoy his tea, and engage in quiet activities before starting his day. I can totally relate to feeling rushed in the mornings, and I think we can all learn something from his approach. His parents have done a fantastic job nurturing his love for reading and introducing him to different stories. It's wonderful to see him find solace in books and embrace the joy of reading. And his affirmations are absolutely empowering! The fact that he recites them on his own shows the positive impact they've had on his confidence and motivation. It's evident that Ion is a special child with remarkable qualities. His desire to become a scientist and his involvement in a scientist club at school is impressive for someone his age. His idea of creating a formula to prolong life is ambitious and shows his curiosity and imagination. I truly admire Ion's parents for recognizing and fostering his unique abilities and interests. They have set high expectations for him, and he has risen to meet them. It's a reminder that we should trust and believe in our children's potential. Ion's name, meaning "gift from God," is truly fitting because he is indeed a gift. It's heartwarming to see Ion's enthusiasm for reading and his interactions with Jenna. Their thoughtful gifts and support further reinforce his passion for learning. I have no doubt that Ion will continue to achieve great things in the future. Keep shining, Ion! You are an inspiration to us all.

What a smart and darling little boy 😀 He has figured out the secret to a great day...a calm and purposeful morning. My 4 year-old niece used to scream and fight in the mornings because she hated to be dragged out of bed, forced into her clothes, buckled into the car and handed a banana (all within about 15 minutes) in the mornings. My sister finally tried something different, getting up earlier herself and then giving my niece an hour in the mornings to wake- up and do the whole morning routine. My niece got to calmly drink her milk, watch a bit of her favorite tv shows, play with toys etc. By the time she needed to get in the car, she was happy and willing to go to preschool 🏫
