Have to say , Spartan, I love your videos. Nobody exhibits the joys and sorrows of this game as well as you do. I’ve been watching you since launch, and you are just a hoot to listen to. Originally I went Tbull for lessons, Tactic Angel for history ( and humor), and you for the emotional ups and downs this game inflicts on all of us. Somewhere along the line, you’ve actually become a good teacher as well. You always show us your errors as well as your successful actions, and it’s a great mix. You’ve added “ wait for it”, “so that’s a thing”, “ that’s not preferable “, and a few other gems to my vocabulary as well. Thanks for everything you do, including sharing your personal ups and downs with us, and please keep up your supremely entertaining work. You always make me laugh, and THAT’S a thing!

There are a lot of things to be angry about. Potatoes, Wargaming stubbornness. Sometimes your anger speaks for us all. I see you playing in division more these days. Maybe that’s helping. I rarely division, but it is much less stressful when someone is on the same page, even if you lose. I see you doing video on other games or topics too. Maybe the break occasionally helps too. Maybe just being more of yourself too. Anyway , you’re doing a great job. I appreciate that from day one, you’ve taken time to answer people when you can, even with the higher traffic you’re generating now. It always brings a smile to my face when I see you’ve posted something new. Thanks again, and be safe!

I had a rocky start in Maine but I'm warming up to her. Not having 6 guns over the bow takes a little getting used to.

@@SpartanElite43 Izumo is junk, for the love of gos she was junk on the PC game for what 4 years befor ee got balllanced? Legends couldnt even be bothered giving us the buffed version xD

i have both FdG and soyuz and while fdg is a fun mean ship i have never struggled in soyuz against spammers, they get spotted they get returned to port in one salvo, and i'm running mikhail with a tank/brawler build with scharnhorst and paolo inspirations, also found more success using the fighter planes for spotting since teammates are usually potaties. However i can't get the american ships to work for me no matter how i try, guess it's just not my luck to succeed with them.

SHIP MODEL MODE!!! Oh man I hope WOWS keeps it as an option, it’s like a dream come true to my brother and I. Sometimes I like just enjoying the beautiful renderings and attention to detail and the peaceful music.. then if I feel like it I’ll play a match ❤️

Would love a side by side comparison of Montana and Maine.

I do have Soyuz and yes she needs Galler to be at the helm but i do have a tank build with Kedrov using Sims and Hide as inspiration i was able to increase the health to 96k but she must be bow in at all times plus even with Kedrov she can even gets easily set on fire. I also have Maine and Republique haven't used Maine yet but Republique is a great brawler and almost had a Kraken in a match. As far as Freddy G goes i will put her on hold and go for the Buffalo instead because of the 10 second reload which is the same as the Wichita and with my Scotty build i can drop it to 8.2 seconds.

In my opinion, buffalo is well worth the credits. It honestly feels kinda nasty to use, especially with those 12 8 inch balti guns, even can upgrade to mk 16’s with faster reload speed. I highly recommend her!

To be fair with the main battery guns having the three gun turret superimposed over the twin turret however I do think it's interesting wargaming didn't put in the description to the game any explanation is for why the Maine herself being of the Montana genus why it has 10 guns rather than the standard 12 like I was saying on one of Spartans other videos on his channel to me the implication here is is that the Maine simplified in her latter construction to pump her out quicker so she was made a 10 gun Battleship instead of a 12 gun Battleship which is fine I mean there are plenty of examples where ships get simplified during their construction phase I mean having too fewer barrels does that really make her inferior to the Montana only slightly in the case of the weight of the broadside but I just would have liked a little elaboration on that there's going to be folks that think the main was as is is shown here intended to be a 10-gun battleship when she most certainly was designed to have 12 of those Mark 7 50 caliber rifles that being said I mean her resemblance to the Iowa's no accident I mean the Iowa and the Montana class battleships were designed roughly at the same time the aisle was were emphasized for Carrier escort and the Montana's were meant to be the more traditional American Capital surface ship comprehensive armor protection for firefights of attrition heavy main battery of main guns for surface Warfare and relatively moderate speed that was always the American Standard. though I would still consider the Maine Montana Ohio all of them to be standard-esque however that they are bass battleships of their era but they have standard type elements in their DNA I mean the United States Navy almost always preferred ships with for turrets you see that after the consolidation around the standard with the Nevada and the Oklahoma all the way up until the cancellation of the original South Dakota class battleships in 1922. the only reason that we went to a 2 and 1 set up two fore one aft was because of weight restrictions and caliber limitations had there been no treaties or restrictions of any kind I think we would have always stuck with the four turrets 2fore 2 alf set up the main herself here and the Montana and their siblings you see it right here after the naval treaties were repealed the US goes right back to the four turret set up thus their designs reflect that that to be sure from the North Carolina series to the South Dakota series to the Iowa's and Montana's the battleships of the second world war generation were mostly consistent in their appearances along that line.

Meant to ask, but can you give your thoughts on Z23? I feel its meh now that there's so many counters. I can still rack a good hunk of damage and kills and score, but it's an odd boat now. (also please comment on the rat skin, since it's my favourite for the 23 AND the rustnrumble event.) ((Also also, loved this video, showcasing the reliability of Maine, which is a nerfed Monty. My dad plans on getting it, so it'll help a tonne. Keep up the great work!))

As a BB main I still think it is incredibly broken... it needs a limit rather than just constantly recovering HP of 1 or both ships near each other.

Good against everything but have to be careful Vs 15 inch and larger guns! As the Armor leaves a lot to be desired.

Really, they should’ve just buffed the Maine like how they did with the vanguard

I sold some premium ships I had to buy and max it out. It is very underwhelming. Doesn’t feel as accurate as the Iowa, Georgia, Massachusetts, or Alabama. Also VERY sluggish even though I have steering gears mod. Only has one more gun than Iowa but has a lot more HP. Overall, like I said, very underwhelming.

Ports change periodically but soon we may be able to switch ports in game. As for commonwealth they have only recently started adding them to the game

Outstanding in death analysis Spartan I couldn't agree with you more however I've said from the beginning that I think what they should have done was simply buffed the Iowa to tier 8 and give it us a tier 7 South Dakota or rather they could have done an alternate what if and done one of the modernized Iowa's with the King Nimitz upgrade that being said I think the USS Maine here is an absolutely outstanding vessel I think it's a wonderful companion for the tier it's essentially a wartime simplified Montana class super fast Battleship that's not quite on par with the Montana but almost I don't mind ships with parity I mean after all I would set in real life the Colorado and the North Carolina pretty comparable to each other the Kansas and the Iowa comparable to each other however what I would have loved to have seen for teir seven maybe even eight if they could have stretched it that far would have been the modernized West Virginia we have the pre Pearl Harbor version at tier 5 but could you have imagined the enhanced West Virginia practically same Armament as an Iowa one fewer barrels exceptional torpedo defense and relatively comparable AA but that's me it's my opinion that the West Virginia was the most powerful warship we had was 16-in Guns because after all the Navy was never satisfied with the Iowa's torpedo defense and they were built under treaty restrictions the West Virginia's torpedo defense was always deeper so I think it would have been the more resilient to massive air attacks especially when she rejoined the fleet in 1944 the main is on my itinerary I've got 20.1 Mill right now probably he got the rest of that in the next couple of days and acquire her for myself I'm a battleship driver always have been always prefer the big guns and the big armor that being said looking forward to more Clips more in-depth analysis :-)

To your comment about broadside Richelieu not being punished, it’s ridiculous. It’s the most infuriating thing to catch a BB broadside in a BB and not eliminate them. I was in Bismarck the other day and caught Richelieu, JB, and Bismarck all broadside and fired at least 5 salvos at the three of them, three at Richie, on at Bismarck, and one at JB for a grand total of 0 citadels. It was a von Hipper accuracy build too at 9km and shells were landing at the waterline like they’re supposed to, but to no avail. Okay rant over

I, personally, find 90% of my shells passing through cruisers and destoyers like they're ghosts to be more frustrating. At least battleships have armor so, in theory, a shell might somehow bounce but shells crashing though the entire lenght of a ship and being treated as a minor nuisance is so hilariously bad to watch. Funny how torpedoes never seem to have that problem.

@@frenchmustard08 yeah I feel ya, happens all the time to me. For french battle ships I aim a little higher than the waterline and get citadels sometimes. Germans have turtleback so the only way to citadel those ships is long range plunging fire.

@@mitchbrad7114 I feel you man, I know about turtleback too, but it wasn’t just that I wasn’t citadelling them, I was doing minimal damage and they were flat broadside so it took me way too long and I only was able to dispatch one, the others either left or just stayed facing the other ships because I was apparently no threat lol

Yeah I went up against a maine this morning in my Baltimore either he didn't know how to use it or my Baltimore is just badass because I sent* him home packing

Idk what it is about the Maine. Something feels off with it for me. To me it doesn’t have the typical American accuracy like the Iowa or Montana. And I’m running Cunningham and scharn on mine unless I got too much 😂

I'm sorry, but I really wish wg had put Kentucky in the game instead. Partly cause I am from Kentucky myself, but partly cause Kentucky started out as a Montana class, and was later supposed to be the 5th of the Iowa class.

Iowa guns are not the same as Montana. Montana has a higher velocity, Kansas would have similar guns just not the same alpha strike.

In theory, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, and now Maine should all have the same guns as that's what the stats say they have even though, as you say, they all perform differently.

Wrong , both , FDG and Replublique have a higher AP Alpha Damage , FDG can do 13500 with the Main gun upgrade and Replublique sits at 14000

I just don't get it. Well, apart from massive greed by WeeGee that is. The Maine was part of the old Grand White Fleet, and should be a Tier 3 ship at most. The USN would NEVER reuse that name for another ship, as they will NEVER reuse the name Arizona or Constitution. WeeGee reused the name only to make money. I am sick and tired of the effort by WeeGee to only milk funds from us. As a veteran, I am overly disgusted. I miss WoW before the 8.0 release. Since then, it has been horrible game impact changes, horrible game income changes, and never fixing bugs. Discussing.

I think thats more a case of the player using it. Every US battleship can get smacked. Iowa's are the easiest for me in fact.

The ship is garbage so far. Not as accurate as an Iowa. Poor torpedo protection. Average range, and set a fire as easily as the Grossly Kurgenflurgen.
