Couple of things about this ship. One is the secondary battery isn't what you're normally used to on USN fast BBs. This gun is the 5"/54 gun. It fires a heavier shell at a higher velocity than the 5"/38. Presumably, this means more penetration, but WG needs to be more transparent on some of these stats. It's hard to make decisions setting up ships like this when you don't know precisely what WG has put into the game. Secondly, this ship suffers from gigantism. It's a huge ship. You need to minimize turning radius and detection. Fortunately, it has good turret angles, but you still get a touch of feeling like you've got two battleships welded together at the center. Nothing like GK, but it's there and rudder mods help minimize this.

But sadly, in game sense, most HE pen 1/6 of their caliber, so no matter a 5"/25, 5"/38 or 5"/54, they only pen 21mm

Unfortunately, HE shell pens are not affected by their velocity, which is what the caliber determines. It’s actually a downgrade from the lower caliber secondaries since they’ll be coming in at a less steep angle and not hit the superstructure as often

Fun fact Ohio with out the Ship of the Deep camo shows a 68 hull number because if USS Ohio was built as an Montana class battleship it was going to be numbered BB-68

All I'm saying is they better make another opportunity to get more ice crowns for the final purchase I ain't selling out any more to blooms it is insane and ridiculous that they put up so many pay barriers and paywalls to Acquisitions all of your campaign efforts are in vain if you can't extract the total amount via your own actions if that's the case I'll have to get the anhalt but I'm not paying for additional content that ought to be attainable in the game it's why Resident Evil such a treasure to play The Witcher they don't try to make you pay for achievements and entertainment after you've purchased the game

Spartan to help with the range issue on the secondary build (works for memechusetts too), use Henrique Fernandes instead of Haruna. He buffs secondaries and main battery range. Great game nonetheless!

Glad to see this ship in the game! But I am wondering I don’t think I’ve seen a video showcasing proper angling in battleships.sometimes I’m getting it right and sometimes not so much lol

I want this ship, of the two, Ohio and Anhalt I am far more interested in the Ohio. I absolutely adore the Montana and this looks so much fun.

Certainly by far the best premium/legendary vessel out there.

As a person also from OHIO, I approve. In fact I am 8th generation OHIOAN. 3 of my direct ancestors fought at the battle of Upper Sandusky (OHIO) during the revolution. 1782. You can bet your buckeye that I also have the OHIO. And I like it too!

Great review as always...the only thing that I do differently for myself is avoid Gyrating Drillbits because I don't like reducing the speed of my ships. The other slot on that row addresses the turret traverse which is all I need, but that's just me. I do agree that the Ohio will get nerfed, it has all of the characteristics of a ship that fits the profile. Schlieffen is, in my opinion, the best. Legendary capital ship at that tier...I'll have to obtain and play the Ohio to see if I can agree that this is the new King of the Legendary Battleships. It may very well be as Spartan claims but Schlieffen has some things that the Ohio does not...so I'll have to wait and see what the story is between those two but I can say this much, it appears to be the best American battleship in the game which already makes the Ohio one of the elite battleships out there which is a huge accomplishment. I enjoyed the presentation of the different builds for this ship as well. A lot of thought was put into this video as it shows. Well Done!

I'm glad only whales can get this because I don't want to face even 2 of these on the red team.

Maybe one day! I mean its on PC I believe so it's possible but unlikely. If I remember correctly there was a whole controversy surrounding it's release on PC and WG may not want to dig up old memories

@@SpartanElite43 Yeah, it was really controversial, but it was the first ship they released like that format, it was similar to the bureau projects, but worse, bieng primarily missions that where damn near impossible for the average player, for example grind 500k base xp and 10 mill coins or something ridiculous like that, each mission would get you progress points that you coild visually see in game (the ship bieng built) especially since it was during christmas time too. I see it on Legends in a few years I think, hopefully as a campaign ship or bureau project, either way, I'm buying it no matter what XD

It's a great ship and a great brawler, the secondaries are more accurate than the Germans. It's like a Massachusetts at Legendary ❤

Saw on a crash dummy firefight to test out some strategies an ☆Ohio on my team. Clearly this bad girl is the big talk of the town. I'll probably get her later once I have the ice coins after buying a pack and the campaign backing. And getting the 3 weeks done. Oh this holiday season will be a hot one... not literally. Edit: the Anhult is nice and all, but I like it better to have her on a bureau project instead

If it helps, Anhalt is armed with 14" guns and is a bayern hull. While she might get some cruisers, a smart cruiser captain will angle and you can't hurt any t7 or t8 bb. Save the coins I say and get the credits

I must ask. How do we get Arthas the Cold? I’ve never been able to get it.

Arthas is only available through the Warhammer collabs so keep an eye out for when those collabs come back around. He is a whole meme as an inspiration A 20% damage buff while catapult fighter is active

The total free you get is 12,500 enough to either pan-American T5 Gallant Clone or T7 Anhalt. I really wanted Ohio, after enjoying her iowa cousin Georgia and she is a Montana with 4 18" guns. Sadly I will not get crates to buy her, I guess I will have to wait for Vermont 😢

So I got all of the special gems from the 3-week booster and it looks like I'm on track to get the last 3,000 ice crowns that I can get but that'll put me somewhere in the neighborhood of 12550 ice crowns where the hell am I supposed to get the remainder for the for the 15,000 total to purchase the Ohio I accumulated the blooms when I was playing the game earlier this year but I ain't paying for any more I've been a big fan of being able to earn on my rewards certainly with 15 days left in the campaign you think they'll switch out the calendar event LOL

Lol the cheapest you can get it is around 15000 doubloons... 2500 for admiralty backing to grind out campaign... do all advent calender daily missions and then you'll have to buy like 10 x3 crates

Hey Spartan gg yesterday also I have a question how can WG nerf Ohio when they force everyone to pay for it they would have to give everyone a refund just like they did for ark royal and Weimar only it would be a lot bigger refund because it is 200-300 dollars for most “whales”

You won't see Wisconsin, most likely uss illinois (bb-65) which on PC is armed with 203mm guns from buffalo.

I'm glad you enjoy. While the games are very different the overall feels is very similar albeit Legends tends to be more action oriented and PC tends to take longer due to spawn locations

Ohio is more accurate but the guns can be annoying at times because you can only throw a maximum of 8 rounds down range.. however in survivability she makes yamy look real silly

I was in a Worcester in the game in this mornings stream when you got slapped by 3 yamma/mushasis. Im so sad i cant get ohio but at least i got cali and yudachi 🥲
