Genuinely did gasp when he said 'custard... and nothing else' 🤣 That ain't right, man.
Any mention of trifle makes me think of the Friends episode when Rachel mixed up the recipes and put beef, peas, & onions in the trifle... and Joey ate it.

My revelation was how fun Christmas Eve could be with the in-laws who get a little boozy and how morose our Christmas day with my dry evangical family 💩 was in contrast!
hahah I was in this exact situation, except my reaction was "what the hell is Trifle" - when I realised it was an "abhorrent mess of some stuff that used to resemble jelly, cream, custard, sponge cake and fruit." ..... I still didn't understand, but I ate it anyway.
In any other pudding scenario, you’d have custard OR cream. Why does trifle (which needs to go in the bin anyway) need both? Yes everyone takes the piss out of me hating trifle, but this is the hill I’m going to die on.
I have to know, is there cream on the trifle now? I agree it isn’t trifle without the cream and chocolate shavings!

@@jigserdotcom thanks for the update. I agree Irish mums are awesome. Love your comedy, please come to Florida. Forgive me if you were here recently but our home was hit hard by Hurricane Ian and the repairs are extensive. Storm was 9 1/2 hours at 145 mile an hour winds! Last 6 months have past in a blur!
My father was actually not very tolerant of milk cream (genetic thing runs in the family) never stopped him eating trifle though - with custard AND cream! 🤮
