got to ride this coaster in a night, rainy day. being twisted colossus my only other rmc hybrid credit, the backseat on this is AMAZING. the intensity on this doesn’t stop at all. to top it (& end it) with an inversion was the cherry on top.

I actually found Medusa to be one of my favorites of the mid-sized RMCs, I think it's got some of the best variety of elements. Great blend of inversions, airtime, terrain elements, and holding its speed.

I got to ride Medusa in May of last year and had a lot of the same opinions by day, but the ride was so much better by night. It’s definitely a mid-tier RMC, but I loved it anyways 🙌🏻

The story behind this coaster (And the Fun house) is this: It was the year 1874 in the new continent. A successful mining magnate, in a fit of ambition, decided to expand his business to a southern town to make steel alloys, which would be used for the construction of the new railway. He ordered mines to be dug to extract iron, but the scared tenants warned him of the serious danger he would run if he did so, since those lands were cursed by snakes. The man, ignoring, continued with his plans and began to exploit the land. Thus he began to make a lot of money and the railroad industry expanded rapidly. One fine day Medusa, the daughter of this gentleman, was taking a ride on horseback; she was seen leaving, but she was never seen coming back. Desperate, the man offered generous sums of money to whoever found her, but no one succeeded: she simply disappeared. Legend has it that the girl was bitten by a rattlesnake and its poison transformed her into a terrible being with snakes for hair that turned anyone who dared to look her in the eyes into steel. The businessman, hurt by his loss but blinded by the gold, continued to exploit the land and began to melt down the steel statues petrified by his own daughter. Years passed and the train line was completed, but on the day of its inauguration, Medusa, furious at her father's ambition, cursed the railway and before those present the track began to twist and rise to form an enormous structure that merged wood and steel. This is how Medusa Steel Coaster was born.

I like how you did a good job comparing & contrasting this coaster to the other RMCs. I think it looks less impressive from the airtime perspective but I think overall the layout looks nice and unique. Even if the ride is just decent for an RMC, I’m certainly intrigued by it

Having ridden Medusa Steel it is currently my #2 of the 5 RMCs I’ve done. It may not have the airtime hills of the other RMCs and the airtime strength for the most part isn’t that strong but I really like the terrain usage and it’s unique layout. Great Review!

I won’t argue about it being a mid-level RMC, but if you rode Medusa during the first couple of years it was open you likely thought it was one of their very best. Now, if you ride it after going on Steel Vengeance and Iron Gwazi (like Taylor did), it’s certainly going to suffer by comparison. I still think it’s one of RMC’s best in terms of use of structure and terrain.

I absolutely loved it was the first big costar I ever experienced and it’s definitely my favourite in the park I think I could never get bored of it as I could other costars I just wish the park gave a little more TLC to the structure while walking in the que I saw visible broken bits of wood and big nails on the ends of wood that where supposed to be holding the wood beam to another but it was just in the air free and not attached also looks rotten possibly 🤷🏼‍♂️ I went on it possibly 6 times and really loved every time! However half way ish through the 4 time i rode there was a huge CLAK! And Jurk movement at the top of one of the tall peaks! 😱 almost as if the track broke or wasn’t aligned properly every one shrieked / screamed but out of just being actually terrified instead of having fun as we all thought the same.. where we really almost close to death just then? We all seemed to get over the fact it happened by the next 2 amazing elements and where back enjoying it 😂I wanted to talk to someone who worked at the park but my Spanish is not good enough and I saw it working with no problem when I tried to look for the thing that happened to us but no problem seamed to happen again so I went back on the most amazing ride I’ve experienced again as I thought it must just be a thing that happens sometimes 🤷🏼‍♂️ I just don’t want to see this ride disappear as a result of something bad.. in my opinion it’s simply the coolest and best and I’ll never forget it and it’s made me so into riding all costars everywhere as a result of it being such a damn good layout please look after the brilliant thing 6 flags there needs to be more rollercoasters as fun and exciting as this in the world it would be terrible to lose even one of them especially one this cool! It’s my top favourite @CoasterStudios is this normal to experience?

Coaster Studios, if you and Sarah go back to Mexico in the future, both of you should check out Riviera Maya due to their Xcaret parks. None of them have any rides but they're all incredible from what I heard and from my experience of going to Xcaret park and Xenses. Which I would totally recommend going to both of them but I can't say about the other ones as I only went to those 2.

I'd honestly have them either build a ground up, convert another one of the multiple wooden coasters they have, and instead get GCI to do a nice makeover-better seats, Gen.20 and still insert an inversion maybe towards the end, as it would be cool for the experience and they could cut off a little just so it's moving faster at the end, like all the way down more. It's just so well taken care of outside the trains as opposed to many others it'd kind of be a waste of a nice long, fun wooden roller coaster that both feels classic and somewhat modern.

Yeah they are getting a Bayern Curve, built out of restoring two previously used/purchased models. It's kind of like a roller coaster, closer to a powered coaster. it's basically what "Tidal Twister" was meant to be "the new generation" of, IF Skyline can ever get things going right that is. There's also already laid out plans for the "DarkCoaster" project, the main thing being some confusion on the theme and how it seems to go around the track twice. A much better project and concept than that stupid "Drachen Spire" nonsense. If they get anything as big as the latter it should be a B&M giga using the terrain.
