On the bright side, it’s a nicer place to be on IV antibiotics than a horrible hospital ❤️. (So sorry it ruined your plans hun)😕

Sorry you have to deal with an infection during your holiday. Let’s hope the antibiotics kick it and you start to feel much better soon.

Well at least you didn't have to get off the ship. Could be a lot worse.... I hope you still have a good time. 😎🥰

Which travel insurance do you use? I have a port for Ulcerative Colitis infusions, and hubby has a pacemaker/defibrillator. Did you let the ship medical facility know your conditions before/upon boarding?

1:57 is that St. Thomas? It looks like the coast of Charlotte Amalie.

Couple of questions how come your line gets infected a lot. Some people have central line and never get an infection? Why no videos then like four in a week? How do you cope with tpn tube feeds and eating on board with gastropareses?

I have an immunodeficiency. Honestly, I've just been really depressed and not myself and haven't felt like vlogging. Nothing has happened medically in that time to update on either. I'm not very good at coping, I cheat a lot and eat (and then have to pay the consequences of being extremely sick). I am able to drain some things out of my G tube though but I don't feel hunger anymore like I used to.

@@SimplyHannah98 are you still in TPN? I get immocompromised and get infection risk is easier. But is the best option to go on a cruise in confided quarters the best choice? Depression is not fun having chronic illness myself I understand even if just a few minutes update is better than been left hanging also it might give you something to do to distract you. Do you do tube feeds? How do you go about packing and testing and insurance for a cruise especially in covid times. A holiday is good for depression but is that wise due to covid?

Is been in the water a great idea when already immocompromised and fighting an infection just a suggestion. I do things and deal with the consequences but sometimes my family say no that is not wise consequences are too high.

Yes, I am still on TPN. That's is a risk we chose to take, I may have chronic illnesses but that doesn't stop me from trying to live as normal of a life as possible. We went over the risks and benefits of Disney Cruise Line specifically and decided we felt safe traveling during covid. I do also do tube feeds but supplement with the TPN. I had all of my supplies shipped to Florida but I have previously flown down with everything. We also always get travel insurance. I don't get in the water (besides putting my feet in the water) and any clips in the water were filmed by my dad.

I have had autonomic neuropathy with gastroparesis for 20+ years r/t type 1 diabetes for 30 years, breaking my neck, and major surgical complications due to Dunbar Syndrome. I am using a boatload (insert boat joke here) of antiemetics while I am awaiting surgical placement of a gastric pacemaker and pyloromyotomy. Luckily, as a registered nurse, I also have prescriptions for intramuscular promethazine and ondansetron if unable to tolerate anything orally. I have only had a central line for short periods to have aorta repairs and recurrent sepsis, but they are pretty simple to maintain (albeit can quickly become infected with scary stuff) as I also use an insulin pump. I have been medically evacuated for a systemic strep infection due to hypogamnaglobulinemia complications, but the main reason was that the ship medical facility thought I needed emergency surgery. Luckily, I got back on the boat the same evening with antibiotics the medical center could easily administer and monitor during the cruise and they followed up with my regular doctor and me afterwards. What is also nice is that cruise lines can help accommodate many medically prescribed diets. Having a Neurogastroenterologist and cardiothoracic-abdominal surgeons are must-haves, as well as vascular surgeons if you have a central line in place.
