I am doing volunteer work as a front desk receptionist. I applying job and I get back result that we are sorry to say you are not qualified because no experience. can you give me some advice to get my job. Thank you!

I have been watching your videos for about 4-5 months to help me study for my CPC exam. They have been soooo helpful. I have my first interview today as a coder (wish me luck). I didn't pass my first 2 attempts at my exam, but I have one more this Saturday and I KNOW I WILL pass it this time. 🙂 I appreciate all the work you have put into these videos and being relatable. I can't wait to be back at conventions! I spoke at Healthcon in 2015 & 2018 and virtual regionals in 2020. I'm not going to attend in person this year (even though they're stating it will be in person) because of safety concerns. Plus what fun is it going to network at a convention if you have to stay 6ft away from everyone, right?! Fingers crossed for 2021 -- I'll definitely be there, speaker or not.

[PAY QUE$TION] Educational and funny video 😂 I did want to ask, how do you appropriately ask regarding the compensation factor of it since the 2nd character didn’t bring this up? I submitted my resume to a hospital and they asked in the online application what my expectedly salary were and after researching, I input the amount I saw would be for certified coders. With us working hard to pass and certify, would it be seen as an assertive move to ask for what certified coders should earn? I understand they may offer less (and you could ask for a review later?) but would it be silly to accept something less hourly/yearly … if that’s the case, wouldn’t you be in the same situation of just finding a job (non coder related) outside paying the same lowered offer? I’m always nervous when pay negotiations come up… who brings it up first etc 😅 😮‍💨 ??? Thank you 🙏🏼

Is it a standard to bring your books? My current coding position uses an encoder so all my books are a few years out of date.

It's not required, but it can look good to employers if you are equipped with all the right tools.
