This man's spirit, attitude, sense of duty and honor have been completely lost in today's generation for the most part. Thankfully, there are still those like him serving proudly in today's society.

I was a young Lcpl getting my haircut at the base barber in Lejeune December of 85 when Colonel Livingston came in for a haircut. I had only heard stories of the man but word was out that he had just taken over command of 6th Marines. It was an owe inspiring moment when he sat down in the chair next to me. It was like sitting next to Chesty Puller himself. Semper Fi, sir

His brother was a hero too. I, a Korean, appreciate very much to his brother's sacrifice. I served my military service at the unit which is located nearby at the bridge which was built after he died. People remember that he said "if there is a bridge, soldiers will not die." Then he left a word that a bridge be built for the soldiers. www.stripes.com/news/people-of-inje-dedicate-bridge-in-memory-of-u-s-officer-1.40338

I watched about the magnificent bastards of Dai Do a few years back, and I must admit that someone of Livingstons' caliber are exactly why I admire those who wear the uniform. Despite heavy casualties, abandoned by the ARVN mechanized units, and outnumbered by the NVA, the men at Dai Do live up to the expectations and the creedo of the Corps. Hoorah! Semper Fi.🇺🇸

Kyle, There was another MOH earned that day. Another Co Commander by the name of Jay Vargas. Just over 600 Marines decimated an NVA Division.

I met (then LTC)Livingston at MCRD PI. It was recommended to me that I help him train for the Marine Corps Marathon. To this day, he still inspires me. Semper fi,General.

Fun fact: he offered my dad a ride in a F35. My dad declined (He’s well over 50). Later, he also gave my dad a Medal of Honor token. Dad described him as very kind. He even offered to take my dad for a drink.

He's just another American medal of honour recipient who has ignored and forgotten about his war crimes. Shame on you. Shame. Shame. Shame. Every single American civilian should be forced marched into [ Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia ] to see all the damage their tax dollars did to these innocent people.
