Remember, you'll need to press the old water seal out and press the mew one in.

    I fixed my bike guided by this video. All i have to say that you need a 25mm 12 point socket to push in the new water seal, not the 27mm. It fits it perfectly, i had no worries that i will destroy the new seal. Also you can use the other side of the 25mm socket to push out the old water seal. Good luck for all of you, if you are careful and follow this video step by step you will be fine,

    Thanks for the comment. I agree. I had that thought that the 27mm was just a bit too big. When I made this, I was surprised how quick and easy it is. Safe riding!

    I changed out the seals, but there’s still oil seeping out the weeping hole. Any thoughts? Do I need to change something else out?

    Hi there. I have a hardwood timber wedge with a very thin point that I use. You might be able to use a plastic door wedge or something like that...

    Hello. I bought an er6 n 2008 and it has a minor oil leak from the mechanical seal. If i dont fix it what is going to happen?

    It will keep leaking. Eventually it may cause oil and coolant to mix.

    Does the z1000 have a balance shaft? Did you lubricate all the seals? Did you ensure each piece was flush before you tightened? Did you use a torque wrench and torque to spec according to the workshop manual?

    Hi. No, as the seal starts to fail the oil comes out of the weep hole at the bottom of the pump housing. Eventually, I think the oil and coolant will mix...

    Thank you. Had the same exact problem with my z1000 right now. Shaft Oil seal and water seal needs replacement,. Oil turned coffee color and coolant had oil in it.
