It is hard to imagine it nowadays with all our technology and plastics and throw-away society- but just picturing a child getting this as a gift back "in the day"- it must have been amazing. Bright colors, shiny metal, heavy, multiplayer, a mechanism that makes the horses absolutely fly around the track, betting against your friends... I bet this was a favorite toy for many years.

That simple repair for the jockey using the two part putty as a mold blew my mind. By far my favorite restoration yet! Outstanding craftsmanship
One of these games was used as a prop in the movie "Dave," about 1996 with Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Dave was a D.C. temp agency owner who impersonated the President. This was one of the games in the White House. Dave's game was powered by a crank, and rang a bell when the race was won.

It still amazes me how you know how to take each piece apart, much less how to re-assemble. Beautiful work!
this restoration process has really brought back life to this racing game - absolute magic
The objects you restore are amazing, man, I had no idea this existed, but it looks fun! Awesome restoration as always!
This was a beautiful restoration, and I think good call on the brass cup, really draws the eye. The simplicity of the mechanism is really a show, I think it would be very cool to have one of these

@@OldThingsNeverDie-Seeing as you did such a great job restoring it but went down to the brass instead of re-coating the chrome, I'm guessing that's a pretty difficult and demanding process. Would an electron sputtering machine be capable of putting down a good enough layer or would it just be too soft especially for a coin dish?
I love the amount of love and dedication you show on these restorations!

Such a fun game! I loved playing this as a kid. My great grandpa had one in his den. We used to play while he told me stories about his life and adventures on the railroad. Beautiful restoration thank you for the wonderful memories.
I get overwhelmed watching you take it apart you're amazing that you can put it all back together
I hope the new owners get another 100 years of enjoyment out of it. Wonderful restoration. Any collector would love to have this piece.
Es ist unglaublich, wie viel handwerkliche Mühe man sich einst gab um Spielzeug herzustellen. Heute wird alles lieblos aus Platick gegossen und wird genauso lieblos behandeldt und dann auf den Müll geworfen. Tolle Restaurierung, bitte weiter so. Es lohnt sich, diese alten Schätze zu retten.
Beautiful work. I love how you show every item you restore with respect. I think it looks better than it did when it was new.
The original inventor was amazing! But I am just as amazed by your restoration!👏

This is some amazing work. But one think i always find tricky when watching restoration videos is how much is too much. At what point is it no longer the original and at what point is too much of its history lost. When you look at it before hand, all the wear and tear, it obviously tells a story about what and how much its been used.

My wife has no interest in renovation vids and even she was impressed with how well this turned out, a beautiful job.
The games of old may lack the razzle dazzle of modern games, but the mechanical engineering involved is truly impressive.
You have a serious gift. This isn't just restoration, it's art. Magnificent!!!!!

I love in particular that you do a lot of old games, more than most of the other channels. Mixes my interests in such a glorious way, and makes watching your vids an automatic click. Beautiful work dude.
I love that these are vintage toys headed for the trash heap! Wonderful work making it look authentic!
my favorite bits of these kind of restorations are people figuring out how the mechanisms work! neat machine.
I just wanted to write a comment here to express my appreciation for your excellent videos, as I find them outstanding, not only for the ability to restore something "old", but for the way you display your videos. For example, a great success is not to add music or elements that are distracting. The sounds of the brushes, hammers, sandpapers and other tools that you use in your restorations have something magical that relaxes a lot. Thank you very much for sharing your videos and I hope you keep doing this. For me, they´ve been an extraordinary discovery!

These restoration guys never cease to amaze me with their craftsmanship acumen. Every time I see the beginning of one of these videos where they show the old rusted, beat up and damaged item, all I see is garbage; while they see potential. This was a cool restoration. I don't see any other channels doing old mechanical game restorations, it is very interesting. You could make a playlist of just those items. I thought it was brilliant how you remade the broken pieces from the horse racer!
We will never see the kind of craftmanship antiques have ever in the normal market again and it's sad.
As an avid toy maker I find your videos incredible. I always learn something worth the time it takes to watch you work. Thankyou so much. Be well, God bless.
I know they don't have to be that detailed, but as a miniature model painter I really wanted to get my hands on those horses haha. Great work all the same!
Просто супер, какая проделана кропотливая работа. Вы настоящий мастер своего дела.
OMG Incredible is the word! I especially loved the head and leg sculpt. And the paint! Congratulations, you do honor to this beautiful French toy! Bravo Nicolas!
Great job on giving a 50+ year old game another 50+ years of life!
Amazing Craftsmanship! Was such a joy to see this classic piece getting restored to it's original glory! (Actually, better than original!)
Amazing work! So many fiddly little moving parts and you got it running perfectly!
I don't know how long you spent resuscitating this item but I can only admire and applaud your dedication to the task and your attention to all detail. You are truly gifted
I have never seen this game before, but you have done a marvellous job of restoring it. I can imagine children having lots of fun playing with this at Christmas after being given it, and even the adults joining in too. It's such a worthy addition to your catalogue of restored items.
I found watching this made me emotional, we quickly discard objects because of age and wear that are true works of art. Much respect to you Sir for the amazing dedication to your craft, it was a pleasure to watch.

I love what you choose to restore, if I saw this piece in a different circumstances I would wonder how it works. This spinning mechanism that looks like someone pushed the wheel with an automation finger is simply gorgeous
I continue to be impressed with the level of skill you have to do these restorations. Thank you.
That was a delight watching this restoration from it’s aged original piece to its new and refreshed look 👍😊
Refreshing to see a genuine restoration where it hasn’t been deliberately buggered up first.
You should name one of them Yeowzer, after my retired race horse! He had 79 runs and won 15 times! Made 200k, and was a fantastic racer! Retired last year and is enjoying his new job
This was probably my favorites only because it worked like new in the end with so many parts! You are one talented guy! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm usually not into ASMR, but this video's sounds were great and basically put me to sleep in my chair
Favorite part, the flag music and how it cuts off as you cut the ribbon. Pretty cool seeing it being restored!
Beautiful job! Love seeing restorations to old toys and games. So much character to them.
There are very few restorations I've enjoyed as much as this one. Awesome work. 👏👏👏
Finally the headless rider and his three hoofed horse are back in the race.Great restoration that is heartwarming and authentic.
I vaguely recall a game like this described in an old Stephen King book called "Needful Things" It was "Magic" and could predict winning horses at real time races or something like that. Cool antique, cool video :)
Oh my gosh what an awesome piece to restore! Absolutely brilliant. Looks li,like, it was fun to do. Thanks for sharing
I must say, this was pretty awesome! Perfect object and perfect restoration. But your audio is a secret hero of the video. Very nice overall package
В те далекие времена, не было электронных гаджетов и игрушек, но меня очень удивляют люди, которые умудрялись тогда, придумывать такие интересные и замысловатые настольные развлечения...

Hi. I have just dicovered your channel and find it fascinating and really relaxing to watch. The care and attention that you show is amazing - from the mechanical attention to the professionalism in audio and visual aspects of the production. I've even put some of your videos on in the background just to listen to the sounds while I've been working!
21:15 - Round, and round, and round they go! Gosh, watching it is just so mesmerizing!
I love how you took the time to deburr several of the parts, you took it beyond a restoration, to an improved version of the original object. That may be a big no no in art conservation/restoration, but in this cases like this 👍👍.
Your attention to detail and care in the restoration process are truly stunning. Well done.
