An octopus climbing over the bow of the boat, wielding that gaff sounds like a great new MeatEater T-Shirt

This view of the podcast is brilliant. I feel like I'm sitting on a chair behind Jimmy. So cool
I wish you guys would record a podcast every day of what happened at the fish shack and then released them all together. The fish shack shit is my FAVOURITE i cannot get enough. Hope to see jimmy on a episode one day but understand the want of privacy for your family!
I've been listening to The Meateater podcast for the last 4.5 years and this is my first time watching it on KZread. Christmas came early!!!!!
I have come to really enjoy watching the episodes. I don’t listen on Spotify anymore. I enjoy the feel of sitting in the room with you all.
This cast was awesome, great to meet Mrs. MeatEater and James (after a fashion)
Jimmy is pretty insightful for his age. must have a good dad... Nice podcast. love the youtube format
The puss on the pot coming back for revenge sounds like a T-shirt idea…
Really enjoy having the rinella clan on the podcast! Love the way katie teases you, shes an excellent ying to your yang! Laughed my ass off about jimmy loosing your pliars lol i dont know how many of my mom/dads fishing pliars ive misplaced
Great show! Love that you have family on show and protect your kids, keep up the great job.
Listening to this while I slow grill some beef and pork ribs over the fire. Man, Jimmy might be the luckiest kid alive.
You 100% need to have the boys from duck camp dinners on as a group for an episode. What an awesome episode that would be.

I CANT AGREE MORE WITH THIS!
I’m always in awe of the production quality of every video and also the quality of conversation of the podcast. Now they’re mixed and it’s pretty neat 😂👍
Recording the podcast is the best decision ever. Wish it had been done years ago like we all begged for. Lol. Great having Jimbabwe back on and getting his insights. Impressive articulate kiddo.
Great job Phil! Thanks for getting it out a bit earlier!
This is the best one yet the dynamic of the table is the best
Love this format, real guy, Steve's a savage.
I'm a lefty, non hunter, never fired a gun. But I LOVE meat eating and I love this show as well!
"We never catch one with all its arms." "That's because of some A$$h0!e with a gaff!" OMG! I laughed so hard about that! LoL!!
This podcast is great love having the video now!
Great Podcast. Thank you for making it available on KZread.
That was great. I sure like watching even more than just listening.
"Some asshole with a gaff" !! LMAO
I love Steve having his kid participate.
I genuinely appreciate that one of Steve’s “corrections” is entered to prove he was right all along. Lol. Also I had no idea octopus got anywhere near that big.
Feels like Im hanging out with Steve! Me and my wife love the game in the background, Bananagrams.
#meateaterforlife love this stuff!!!
Love that we have video now
Thanks for getting out earlier!!!
Steve ranella gives off the vibe of a guy that shows up to a party with an acoustic guitar and starts playing dave mathews.
It was nice hearing Jimmy’s takes
Steve's boy did well! My kids won't STFU if their lives depended on it.
53:44 “WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROBLEM, with the gaff?” 😂😂
James Rinella. Well done Mom and Dad!
Big claim but one of my favorite episodes
Definitely need a Gnome vs Puss with gaff on t-shirt.
😂 great episode, have a machete ready for that battle of Gaff Octopus vs Machete Man😂
Love how my father in law has the same fish poster on the wall up at the cabin
Hey guys. Just wanted you to know that thing I saw when I opened the podcast to watch was your favorite infomercial!! Mr VShred “What foods are making you fat?”
I love your boys comment on killing cats “kids are dumb” lol your a great person and a great dad Steve sitting around a campfire listening to your podcast after a evening on the lake catching walleye with my kids couldn’t ask for anything better
We gotta see the video of this octopus!
Yo, when did we get video?! Finally!
The increase in shark bites is due to the big companies such as Omega Protein coming closer to shore, dumping old bait, and catching massive amounts of school fish like Menhaden.
Thanks, funny
There is something about mayo and fish... it can turn a trash fish into a delicacy and also act as a tenderizer. I wonder the science behind it. Putting a puss in da pot: added to the Bucket List!
I was waiting for Steve to say his plan when he got it on board was to bite it behind the eye.
STEVE RINELLA FOR PRESIDENT!
Was the fish thief ever found?
Seth and Chester need to go fishing again.
That is one smart kid!
HOW IN THE WORLD... is this episode not called "Some asshole with a gaff..."? Now that's a "hook".

I was going to say, "Some asshole with a gaff" would have been a great title. Glad I'm not the only one who thought of it.
Id like to see Tim Wells and Meat Eater hook up for a show or two
boy catches octopus. he harvested that animal in a scuba diving area in edmonds wa. popular for its sea life, its a segregated area for divers. It would be like going to a park to see the flowers and they are all gone.
Keep the wife on more podcasts its nice to see someone keep Steve in line and challenge him way more than the other guys would ever do!! Steve has a bit of an ego that can be off putting
@Gilly999999

Steve's ego is what makes him funny though, when he gets checked on it. Especially by Spencer haha
Wait, Rinella has a personal chef? That’s funny to me!
I need more of Katie (not rinella) fisher imitating Steve content
Most shark bites occur in 3ft of water, where most swim bathers will be. Smaller sharks will be in this shallow water. Minor injury most of the time.
Would it make more sense that since there is an all-time lowest number of sharks, that the most aggressive are the ones that survive?
I'm a resident of North Canterbury in New Zealand and recall the recent campaign to encourage kids to kill cats in an attempt to help the bird population. I suspect that they were trying to get free labour rather than expensive contractors to save money.
Ethyl Mercaptan- what they add to propane
Steve. Why did'nt you bit the octopus be hid the eye?🤣
You shkuld have a flathead catfish special with Spencer Bower from Rivercertified! Hell of an outdoorsman and conservationist. Hes got a podcast too and an awesome KZread channel
Okay Steve, I am a former Cryogenic engineer and the theory of bodies sublimating is flawed. Simply due to physics. The only naturally occurring substance that performs this chemical change of state is Carbon Dioxide (aka dry ice).
Did y'all post the octopus video?
Hey what's up guys I'm a big fan I'm from Miami Florida. I'm planning to go hunting to Colorado or preparing. What caliber of bullet you guys will recommend for a first-timer hunting for mule deer or elk

Can't go wrong with a .308 or .270 both pack plenty of punch. You could go bigger with something like a 300 win mag but I personally think it's overkill.

.270 WSM... just a bit above the .270 Winchester, in my experience, when it comes to versatility, shoot-ability and performance.

The lung thing might go back to the tuberculosis days.
I've heard it takes 10,000 hours to be professional at a trade or art form. That's about 417 days at 8 hours a day, a little over 9 years at 3 hours a day, so kids could become pro cat killers at the proper age to handle and manipulate a firearm after about a year and a half of a honest weeks work. 😂 if that makes sense...
I used to shoot stray cats. You can 100% tell the difference at a good distance probably 50 yards. Didn’t have a range finder. It helps the community when it’s a problem. Just use a pellet gun
Are hats required for participation in the podcast ;) ?
This podcast was hilarious
Look I’ll eat most anything but if Steve Rinella won’t eat it then it’s a definite no go for me. Lol

Hahahah dont worry about that gas leak boy... listen im the man damn it. Stop worrying about the propane leak I changed the tanks and your fine.👌
Do you think he robbed the shrimp pot that was completely empty?
Great podcast, terrible camera angle lol
kids killing cats ...you can recruit a lot of shooters at any school but how many professional hunters can you find on short notice ..? when I was a kid I had a 22 rifle ..got it for Christmas ...and I shot anything that wasn't against the law ... later I got more respectful of life in general and refrained from killing anything I wasn't going to eat ..so the kids I feel would not be harmed by killing a few cats
pay the kids then they are professionals
My best friend in high schools uncle was a diver in Seattle area and was attcked by a giant octopus his dive budy tried to shoot it off of him with a spear gun and got my friends uncle. They never recoved the body. Thats why we always had to sneak my spear gun out when we were with his parents at the beach in Puerto Rico LOL.
The vegan cooking thing, I now understand. My wife is vegan, Im a omnivore. If meat is cooked near her or if she gets buttered bread or a whiff of eggs? Sick for days. And she used to be a steak eater. For whatever reason she had to stop eating meat and dairy because it makes her sick. I can eat meat, just can't cook it in the house. Which is fine. Because I'd rather grill it anyway.

Thanks for disrespecting my Hawaiians. King Kameha kamea the third? Choosing your words? Governor Josh Green who you know nothing about? Why’d you even bother with this? Your whole panel couldn’t care less.

Yo Steve im wondering....why it takes so many people to run Meat eater. What did you do go down to the local hipster hangout over there in old Man tana and have a job fair. Come down all you modern wannabe hunters we will make you a producer.
@coon3869

Meateater is now a very large (comparatively in the hunting industry) company. Would you expect facebook to still be run solely by Zuckerberg? What are you even saying? Do you not understand how a company works? As far as “hipsters”, who exactly are you tagging that name onto? Do you just mean any educated hunters in general?
@amorton94

What TF are you even talking about? How sad is your life that you're complaining about a company's employees? What is he supposed to do, hire a bunch of boomers, like yourself, that don't understand how the internet works?
