Prior to the release of this film, people truly believed it was going to be just another cheesy "teen dramedy movie" without any real flare to it, and this was only because the trailers for it came across as rather unappealing. However, when people gave this film a chance upon seeing it, they discovered that despite the usual cliches that a typical "teen dramedy movie" would have, Mean Girls had something far extra to it, something nobody expected from it, the one thing that most films of adolescent nature don't have.
