So the movie was clearly filmed in Chicago, as a Chicago native I recognized my city in the preview-trailer. But you mean to tell me they never mentioned the location where this movie took place? Tyler Perry is the worst movie producer ever🤦🏽‍♀️ Thanks for this review, I have no reason to watch.

I couldn’t watch that movie about the grey guy and girl that got married….it’s was like 3 or 4 movies in the series….to me it seems like it was like that movie….I think the name was 6 somethings of red or gray or something like that. I got through the end of it and thought Kelly did a great job acting she was believable as a character. So she should find other acting roles because she is a good actress. I loved her outfits extremely stylish!

@@se_me1756we know he is the boss & owner of the studios & movies put out there. The problem is he wants full control & is egotistical. He can produce better quality movies & tv shows if he will open up his mind to hire talented black writers & directors. He brags about producing his movies faster than othe movie executives. But the end result is always trash, because he is rushing and not making wise decisions! The only reason why he is a billionaire is because the black community supports him because we appreciate that he employs a lot of black actors who may never get a chance to act in “main stream movies or tv shows “. He also is a philanthropist who helps others who are in need financially. Just wish that he would hire better writers so he can succeed with producing good quality movies/tv shows worth watching, that we can be proud of. I hope he does a good job with the movie about the black women who served in the Army during WWII. Hope he did his research & left a positive impression on that upcoming movie.

Idk I feel like that’s how a lot of women r written in thrillers to make irrational decisions to further the plot only difference here is that Tyler Perry only stars black people in his films. I don’t think it’s some big vendetta against black woman lol why does everything have to be a representation of black people in the real world? Like some personal attack it’s just a movie. If she didn’t make irrational decisions it wouldn’t be a thriller.

There was no context on anything in this movie. Nothing was explained. You left having more questions than answers. 🤦🏽‍♀️ like why did he choose Kelly for the lawyer (no context on her being the best attorney in Chicago). Who was the man next to the brother in the beginning ( I thought he was gay). Why did the family looked down on Kelly (did she come from poverty or had a racey background). What the HELL happened to Kelly’s large amount of money that was sent to the brother regularly for the mom’s alleged treatment ( she never asked or did they explain, we were left to assume it went to the brother’s campaign). Why was Kelly so dumb to the mother’s disrespect? Where the hell was his front door (anyone from the street had access. If so where was next door where white girl lived)? I have so many more questions. 🤔

Also, Mea asked Zyair if he wanted to get a lethal injection, but there is no death penalty in Illinois 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also, they never recovered the victim's body to be able to solidify the charges on Zyair. Lastly, I don't believe they ever cleared up how there were fragments of a skull on the alleged victim's picture. In my review of "Mea Culpa," the movie left me disappointed and disjointed. The poorly delivered dialogue and lackluster performances, especially Kelly, gave the impression of an under-budget film. Kelly's portrayal lacked facial expressions, and her attempt at a firm, straight-shooter lawyer fell flat. Trevonte's character took a bizarre turn, with cringy lines and inappropriate scenes, such as the orgy party in his building and the awkward sex scene with his neighbor while Kelly stood idly by. These moments contributed to the overall ridiculousness of the storyline, making it hard to take seriously despite the stunning cast. The film's multitude of concepts and poor execution left me thoroughly unimpressed. At this juncture in Tyler Perry's career, it seems imperative for him to assign roles to individuals who can elevate his work. The audience may grow weary of these seemingly hastily assembled movies that offer little enjoyment, even with an attractive cast. What captivates a core audience is the evident effort and attention to detail from a producer, actor, and director. Unfortunately, "Mea Culpa" felt thrown together for a quick profit and exposure, lacking any substantial value added to the craft.

This video popped up in my feed, and since I watched the movie 2 nights ago, I decided to watch this review. I AM SO GLAD I'm not the only one who thought this movie was trash. First off, I didn't realize it was a Tyler Perry film until I started watching. I stopped watching his stuff years ago because it all seems to be the same thing. I watched this particular movie because it was starring Kelly Rowland. I thought her performance was good, but I was immediately pissed and turned off when she slept with him. Now I'm a Scorpio, I'm highly sexual but I was offended by this, which doesn't happen often. As a PROFFSSIONALLY LICENSED ATTY, I would believe that she wouldn't want to jeopardize her license just for sex. As a woman a color we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard and even thoughits just s movie, still!! This annoyed the hek out of me, especially since she didn't fact-check the news recv'd prior to this scene by just going to the hotel to see for herself first hand then she wouldnt have made the dumb ass emotional decison to sleepnwith this dude who youncould tell was playing her all along. I knew she was going to sleep with him and that the Mother didn't have cancer, that the brother in law was in on it somehow. I figured out the husband was in on it as soon as he pulled up, very predictable movie from beginning to end. The characters lacked substance and so many other things. The ending was stupid, and there were so many things that were unaddressed and left you wondering what happened. What happened to Heidi, Why was she in DR, How did she become a part of the setup? How did the sister in law meet and sleep with the painter? When did all of it transpire? Was she dead at the end or just critically injured? Why was the brother in law framing dude, and why was the whole family in on it? Why did he hate Mea so much, etc. There was a lot to be unpacked. Oh, and why did the 2 daughter in laws continuously accept poor treatment from the mother in law and the family as a whole? Why are there no STRONG black women that can stand up for themselves? How did you create Mea to be a powerhouse and then dumb her down? This movie had not one role model nor did it have depth, nothing to make you ponder and go Hmmmm! The only WOW FACTOR was that it was it was so bad.

@@rissilient85 I just had this convo. Tyler has a huge contract with Netflix to produce movies. As such, he is paid either way. Our views are good enough for him. He is not looking for us to like them cause he makes money either way. I think what might backfire is the rating survey Netflix place at the end. If they get enough thumbs down they may try to get out of that contract. But trust me he’s not getting thumbs down. Black people are supportive of our own based on color and choose to complain in forums like this. We will continue watching his movies hoping he gets better. Either way both parties win (TP and Netflix). But as you guys said our expectations are too high. Tyler’s movies are not for us despite what color he and his characters skin tones are. Those movies are to perpetuate negative stigma of the culture. His views are skewed and his rich friends love it. We definitely need to change our expectations and decide if we want to continue participating in his shenanigans. We have more power than we think. Until we realize that Tyler will continues to be mediocre and play in our faces.

These were my sentiments exactly 🤦🏽‍♀️ My husband and I were so excited to watch and plus support a black film especially Kelly and Trevonte. We love a good movie..But this was ridiculously unrealistic & just flat out stupid. The storyline got lost early on and they did keep us guessing what would happen but the next was ridiculous. The sex scene wasn’t that steamy and the first sex scene was unrealistic..The interesting part is most of those paintings were really Trevonte’s if not all and Kelley helped with the producing of this movie whatever that means…lol So that was great to know but it was disappointingly not a good movie! I agree with u about Tyler’s writing like what in the world. I love Tyler Perry but Sorry guys maybe next time. This wasn’t it.

I actually can't stand his writing outside of Why did I get married and A family that Preys. His directing sucks too. Like the pacing is always slow n off, close up shots for no reason. Almost like he would've been good at soap operas when they were a thing. But he dies have a cult audience . I think those who like intelligent films can't get with his style or scripting.

100% agreed with your intro. I used to love TP and have so many fond memories watching his movies in particular, but now I can't stomach it anymore. It saddens me b/c his shows and movies were always over the top, but were still mostly believable/relatable enough to be entertaining. Now it's just so silly, you can't suspend your disbelief. It's so frustrating. He hires so many beautiful and highly talented actors and actresses, but gives them these terrible scripts, cheap wigs, and/or sets. It's ridiculous at this point.

I knew I wasn’t gone watch this movie from the Netflix preview provided. Also, I’m not over the wig arrangements in “A Fall From Grace”. And you can see his motivation for Kelly’s character was clearly Olivia pope.
