Why in my opinion the Spéirling is actually slower than F1 even IRL : 1) it is much heavier and has comparable power 2) motricity (one big strongness of the McMurtry ) isn't as much important here than in Goodwood hillclimb 3) the braking perfs of the F1 is absolutely unmatched

The main difference? Hundreds of millions been pumped into F1 cars to shave off a second here and there by the biggest brains in automotive with the best equipments available, that's the biggest difference between the 2 cars.

Maybe the mod is not accurate on high speeds ? I mean, the author must have calibrated it on Goodwood times. Or maybe the F1 is too damn fast (but my time here is very close to verstappen pole lap)

@@fabulouscarcharts5467Or maybe Mcmurtry really just isn’t nowhere near F1 at all.

McMurtry should have 2 tons of downforce no matter it's speed thanks to it's fan system, given that fact i would expect it to at the very least be faster than F1 in low speed corners despite it's higher weight. McMurtry can accelerate from 0-60mph in 1.4s with good conditions having only rear wheel drive and skinnier, less grippy rear tires than F1 which is evidence towards the fact it should be much quicker in low speed as that wouldn't be possible without huge downforce. It's true that straight line acceleration doesn't always translate to high potential in lateral Gs, but in this case i think it's safe to say that this logic would apply for the McMurtry. I think the mod is done wrong, possibly completely ignoring the 2 tons of stationary downforce. I'd imagine the Mcmurtry should be faster around Monaco than any F1 in history, but around more conventional F1 tracks F1 should still win given their high speed cornering performance and top speed advantage.

I'm currently trying to update the parameters file of the mod to understand why (whether?), indeed, the lateral grip is that 'poor'. Maybe a question of tire physical model actually. The Spéirling is far from what Kunos developers expected when implementing a physics engine for cars I guess.

True, it's possible that making a true-to-life Speirling is impossible in assetto corsa due to physics engine limitations. If you could somehow make it work though I'd love to see it, even if it ends up not being in assetto corsa@@fabulouscarcharts5467

Of course F1 wins, also its not really F1's 'homeground' here at Monaco, the cars are too big now, too long, too heavy, and even too wide, you should have taken the fight to Barcelona or Silverstone.

You can check my comparison in Road Atlanta if you want a more traditional track, though much slower than large F1 tracks for sure.

I mean, if it already wins by 8 seconds in Monaco, on a bigger track, the difference would be much higher. And well, they may be too big for racing in Monaco, but that had been the case since like the 80's where the cars were just as wide as they are now, just shorter. And still, it's not like the big modern cars are slow, even the shorter, narrower cars of the early 2000's aren't faster than current cars at Monaco.
