My home town.❤ .😊I was a runner also. Had the honor of running for Coach Diaz and Coach White. This movie always has me bawling.

One of my favorites from school

I was 14 when I met a 15 yr old literally built the size of a refrigerator. But he moved like he was on ice.

He never stopped once in the entire film

Man back in basic I’ll never forget this dude . Huge ass November Scorpio . This guy had wide shoulder and real big back appetite . I didn’t think he’d be able to do the 2 mile run . He transformed right in front of me on some super saiyan shit . Ran faster than lots of the lean dudes. Never underestimated a big dude again

My teacher showed this movie during finals week (after tests) and my whole class cheered at this particular scene. Such a good movie 👌🏽

This is my all time favorite sports movie. My HSXC coach would show this every year before the start of the season and I've loved it ever since!

As a 10 year in a row receive of the "fastest fat kid" award. I can tell you this kid was waiting for the day to show his skills. I was a one lap rabbit for our school record holder for the mile. He said he couldnt do it without me. Nobody knew i helped him set his pace for one lap .

@@basimnadeem1596 He means that he set the pace for the first lap. He probably didn’t have the stamina to continue that pace, but the record holder did. He’s saying that if he didn’t set that fast pace for the first lap, then the record holder probably would have run slower and more conservatively, and thus he wouldn’t break the record.

This scene ALWAYS makes me cry, made me cry when I was 14, still makes me cry now

Such an awesome movie, every bit of it is inspirational for all levels of XC runners. Just last season our boys had their Danny Diaz step up at championships.

Hope your vacation was great and you feel recharged. Welcome back. I feel the key is just to live a life worth living. The flame you talked about, it comes and goes. Were human. We grow, we change, and we adapt to lifes circumstances. And that fire within us, our very core, our soul. It can be as bright as an ember hardly giving off a glow or a blazing beacon of hope and light spreading kindness, love, warmth, and hope. Either because of the joy we're found in our lives, the love, or the passion. Yes, life sucks. It's hard, and there are days it is so impossibly challenging to get back up after you've been knocked down. Sadily, some don't (the flame may be eternal, but the vessel is fragile). But, those who fight, who take that second chance, who refuse to give up, people can see that fire in their eyes. A fire that may inspire them, ignite their flame, push them to be more. Yes, we are responsible for our lives. But, to think our actions, either kind or otherwise, don't impact others is very self-conceded. Even a pebble tossed in a pond causes a ripple effect.

Danny Diaz was a character I could always relate to when it can to being slightly larger but still being able to run like hell. I was an advid baseball player when I was younger and smaller, now I'm more built like a female viking and shock people with how fast I can run. Goes to show how a person's physical build doesn't always show what they are fully capable of.

This scene makes me so happy and tear up every time I watch it! I ran cross country & track, I wasn’t big but to run faster than your P.R. and finish before some runners you never thought you’d ever beat… it’s a memory for sure!

One of my favorite movies. I just watched it about a month ago and it’s amazing.

It's too bad that Disney, these days, is being run by people who care more about pushing their agenda rather than making good movies (or shows in general). If they did make a Sports movie now, it probably would be about the WNBA with its woke agenda behind it. Disney needs people who actually love movies and filmmaking.

I ran cross country in Jinior college, I was the Anchor. I wasn't fast but never quit. I use to train with a dude as big as Diaz, he use to run like a 5min mile I was at best 5:45min . Never underestimate the power of the big boy.

Fun fact: in high school XC, only the top 5 score. Having your 6th and 7th runners finish in better than usual position is irrelevant if they didn't beat the 5th runner.

Favorite movie of all time. i ran cross country in high school so this movie hit deep. when your out on those runs, its just you and the road and the space between you and the finish line. no giving up.

Great Movie

As a big woman/former big girl who had much slimmer siblings, I surprised many a ppl with how fast I could run. Had to keep up regardless of size or I would never hear the end of it.
