it's incredible how every step is so well thought out to be the most efficient. Specialized tools, layouts etc. I mean they even spaced the bacon out on the paper so you don't have to pull it apart! Every second counts. And it ensures consistency, like with the bacon, instead of pulling it apart and changing the bacon size or ripping it in half. The wide spatula to take out the eggs all at once. The layout of where the tools are and where the food is. It's down to a science!

That’s why a McDonald’s franchise is a minimum $1,000,000 investment. You get what you pay for. I hear subways are the cheapest, less complicated stuff. Either way, it’s a hard, repetitive job, but being an owner seems okay…. But not for me. Too much constant beeping, grease, unhealthy and bland food. Clientele is typically not my type of people

  • @12gagegaming43

@@HotSauceStain I just got off working burger king for two years and it's an incredibly less efficient work environment in a dozen small ways. Bun toaster is less expeditious, ketchup and mustard are in bottles instead of that squeezer our friend in the video has, etc. It all adds up to a massive difference. In general fast food is way more stressful than these videos can encapsulate, especially making the food and taking orders. Drive thru in particular is bad for order taking as people there are often less patient than inside orders.

I'll be honest - I went into this video expecting to see full justification for why I don't eat at McDonald's. Instead, I see a insanely clean kitchen run incredibly efficiently. It's not gonna make me rush out and buy a BigMac or anything right now, but this helps me appreciate what you fast food workers have to do every day. I mean, I was never (and will never be) one of those people who thinks working fast food is any more or less important than anything else, but getting this first-hand look at what goes on in one of those kitchens is an interesting thing. Great video.

The back of the establishment is indeed spotless. But the "food" they serve is death, as well as the chemically laden drinks they offer. Watch Food, Inc to get a better idea of who's really supplying our food, what's actually in it, and who's in charge of the agencies that allow those suppliers to poison America. You'll be looking for clean land to hunt and fish on to butcher your own food for your family. Corporate fast food is extremely unhealthy!

The worst thing to deal with was managers, swing and salaried that did not care about their employees and the sending home people before their 8 hours were up, weird scheduling, etc. The work itself was not hard at all. The methods shown here are more geared toward controlling food costs at the expense of speed.

Mind you we have myself and two other cooks having to communicate with 2 cashiers so we where always throwing orders to each other and all that, but this is almost deathly silent in comparison.

That's pretty common in morning business, I've never worked McDs, but have worked a few kitchens. Its always quiet in the morning due to less volume & less people. In the mornings when I was working I'd be the only one cooking. Wouldn't get a hand till a few hours later if it was a weekend. But dinner service is entirely different. Many more cooks, demand, and jobs being done. People inquiring how long till this or that is ready, or needing this or that. Be willing to bet that it gets fun later at night during dinner rush.
