I specifically remember this bit walking thirty minutes to a shitty retail job in the pouring rain I loathed in a city I hated my first year living in my own and being Freshly Traumatized and not being entirely cognizant of my surroundings. This was saved in my phone of favorite goofs and I couldn’t remember why until now. So grateful for MBMBAM. Got me through so many awful awful days.

fucking kills me every time

The way Justin pronounces Nuthead at 9:35 has that pure, savory West Virginia™️ flavor to it.

I heard Mads and my eyes fucking widened in a way they never have. The fucking, "Yes, Mads Mikkelsen needs to have the Nuthead franchise," made me lose my fucking marbles

I like the idea of you being the monster. Nuhead wakes up and shakes their partner awake because they had that dream again, and the partner is also you. Like you sit up real quick and Nuthead falls off the bed in terror as your head opens up and your weird flesh tendril moves across your hidden bones as you also scream in terror. Like, you’re scared of each other, but mostly Nuthead is scared of you. Nuthead dreamed you up and you exist only in the dream of Nuthead and the only way to keep yourself alive and to become real is to kill Nuthead, but they’re real scary and also scared of you. So the two main characters are trying to kill each other, and we (the viewers) as humans should be rooting for our fellow human, but Nuthead is just such an endearing cult classic character that the audience can’t help but side with them. At the end of the movie, you kill Nuthead, but in the after credits sequence it’s revealed that you dream up Nuthead and the cycle continues into the next hour and fourty-five minutes as a direct second movie. I’m really into this character, man.

But also like, you know each other as partners, like somewhere inside yourselves, so that just adds this whole element of tragedy to it. And at the end of the second movie Nuthead wins through maybe this like, psychic transferal process that allows them to become you - of course, your face crumbles away to reveal a walnut. Nuthead's unresolved trauma from the events of the movies (and their abusive father) leads them to kill the first human they see, thus setting up their inevitable role as the world's most famous horror villain.

12:25 Travis' idea here would actually work really well in a horror movie if you tweak it just a little. darkened silhouette looks like someone's in the room > panic > turn on the light > just clothes on a chair > relief > cut back to chair, wait a couple beats > something gets up from underneath clothes on the chair could easily see this done in like an Ari Aster movie or smthng, very clever

Wow a lot of these episodes man, like I think one of the writers for Rick and Morty just is a real big MBMBaM fan. Also, some old stuff in TAZ is like the stuff in Rick and Morty.

Ok plot twist: nuthead was the hero the whole time. There was an even more sinister villain that was off screen called the headcracker, and the only way to save the world was to infiltrate everyone’s consciousness.

Looked up Linkin Park credits on IMDB and apparently Dracula 2000 left a big impact on Griffin

If you watch the music video Sick of Being Honest by milkblood, it has a similar premise where, plot twist; it was the monster’s dream.
