woodstock, one of the best remembered events in history, had people dying at it, like. a person was run over by a tractor. hundreds of overdoses, traffic that sprawled out for miles resulting in travellers having to camp. this is actually pretty common, all things considered. just a general disregard for human safety and the belief that itll sort itself out. you know how it is

Fuckup events have always been a thing, but nowadays the algorithms of both social media and what gets surfaced to readers of news sites are attuned to promoting bad news and incompetence, because it gets more ad clicks. So, yeah, you're just being shown what's always happening (a small portion of planned events going badly) a disproportionately high amount of the time.
