I have a Golf, now nearly 7 years, still drives like new and looked after... style is plain but on the upside it stays in style longer. I think she's a keeper

To me the Ford doesn't compare to the other two. It's quicker perhaps, but otherwise looks and feels cheap inside. You get more features for less money in the 3 vs the Golf, plus better seats and fuel economy. The Mazda feels like a more substantial, upscale car. The Golf feels every bit a small compact. Reliability and resale histories of the previous gens favor the Mazda as well.

The focus titanium has much better inside then the trend, why compare a the new maz 3 with the shittest focus trim

My Aunt has The Mazda 3 and it still fresh

For some reason they chose bottom spec Mazda3 in a crap colour. I have the Sport Nav in Deep Crystal Blue and it is a thing of beauty.

Given what we know about all the class action lawsuit level reliability issues with Ford Powershift and VW dry clutch DSG, the Mazda’s 6sp auto is a solid and reliable performer.

mazda is impressive.

Best looking car inside and out is easily the Mazda 3, not even close. Focus & Golf have to be the two most boring cars on the market.

the ford is showing his age?? what about the golf, has it ever changes since 1990??

Look at the horrendous interior on the Focus. Looks like an 80s VCR player. The Golf exterior is a bit dull but at least it feels nice where it matters.

Golf has high quality interior and quite spacious. Rear windows of Mazda3 are too small. VW Golf definately more suitable for family car

Golf stuck in time near 1988 :) it looks like upgraded golf mk 2 or serie 3 , quality is probably better tnah others but its boring look !!!!

golf might be more expensive, but it's better and classier.

Mazda got no space at back which isn't show here. Plus Golf is ages ahead of Mazda in interior and solid. Another thing is turbo charged engine in VW which is waaaay better. I would never buy Mazda, car just look nice outside and that's about it.

Damn the mazda 3 is hideous, the entire mazda line up is.

Hondas are even worse but mazdas dont look good imo and they have the most incompetant a/c system and i have been in mazda 2, 3 and 6 and it has been the same story woth the a/c.

SLAV, i live in Florida for 16 years, AC in CX9 and Mazda 6 is great , sooon much stronger than Passat or euro cars not designed to deal with real Hot climates...

k domster I have a VAG car and live in Australia where it gets crazy hot,I have a Skoda Fabia and even when it was 48 celcius (118.4 Fahrenheit) it was freezing inside, fan on 2 and then lowered to 1 out of 4, meanwhile my mums mazda cannot cool fan on 4 takes over an hour to get close to comfortable, mechanics say it is working normally and it is normal, some cars just have worse units. I know people with mazda 3's and mazda 2's and I have been in both when it was around 30 celcius and it was as weak as my mums mazda, I have also been in a mazda 6 but it was a older model, 2004 ish though and it was also weak. If you want guaranteed strong A/C get a Mitsubishi or Toyota, as they use good quality equipment, DENSO for Toyota and Mitsubishi made great units also.

Cx9 cools off a cabin from 110F at 2pm at my works parking lot very quickly, new 2014 Mazda 3 does cool off fast.... 2006 new at the time Passat was like you said very weak and slow to cool off.... older mazda 6 would leak c oolant at 100 k miles :(

Mazda 3 cheap plastic knob and hideous aftermarket inserts all around. golf is better in every sense. With mazda 3 you are just paying for exterior looks skyactive BS is just marketing
