Ok, I have tried a couple times. First of all, the wiper blade replacements are not easy to find, even my mechanic had a tough time finding it. Then the attachments weren't the right fit. A bit frustrating. But I'll keep trying. I thought the dramatic music for this was hilarious, thanks for the video!

You had trouble finding a replacement rear blade for a 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback? What country do you live in? I live in the Midwest of the US and every auto parts store around me has replacement blades. Just pop the plastic cover off and I recommend unscrewing the bolt and removing the entire mechanism from the car. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes

It might seem correct but from what I'm saying in that video you will likely break something. It's not accurate for a more modern Mazda. I appreciate the effort and the information but it should be updated

There are at least 3 and possibly 4 different ways to free the wiper arm at the post to replace the wiper blade. 1. Just raise up the whole arm which pivots at the post. Most logical- easiest to perform. 2. There is a rubber limiter/stopper at the pivot to prevent just raising the arm to gain access requiring you to use a screwdriver to pry it loose which then allows you pivot the arm at the post allowing access to the blade removal and replacement. PITA, but it being pliable rubber once you know how to remove it which takes some sleuthing on KZread to find your particular installation type it is easily done. 3. Same as above but on mine the rubber stopper/limiter was replaced with a solid piece of plastic that took a screwdriver and a hammer to pry it loose so the arm could be raised. There was absolutely no other way to do it. The design of the plastic insert left no tolerance whatsoever to reasonably remove it without violence. Now a question? Why in the phuck put a limiter to prevent raising the arm for blade replacement in the 1st place? Are we in the midst of a wiper blade theft tsunami? Are people stealing them at a rate that justifies not only a limiter but one made of solid plastic that is nearly impossible to remove? Or have three different designs in one model year for the same car? What a stupid world!

The video shows the rubber part of the blade being removed. This clued me in to a key point. The new blade I bought had a housing that was different from the original. But with the parts all opened up, I only needed to swap in the new rubber to the old blade housing. There are a couple of steel stiffeners in the new rubber blade, so don't misplace those. Otherwise, it wasn't a complex operation, once you know how the thing opens up. Very helpful video.

This is not how it works on a 2019 Mazda 3. You should update so you don't cause people to break it. There is a plastic stopper that must be removed before you can raise that blade. I recommend you remove that cover and then remove the bolt and take the entire blade off. It's a 5 mm nut. I think. Definitely don't try the ridiculously stupid English measurement system. 😆

@@rosaliaborja9642 the cap is just pressed on there so just carefully maybe use a flat blade screwdriver and it should pop off. Then there's a bolt below it that is I think 5 mm.

That is exactly correct. There is no other way to replace the rear blade without removing the entire assembly without breaking it.
