    Aaron, Thank you so much for this video. We have the exact dryer with the no-heat symptom. After watching your vid and testing, ours had the same failure as yours. I was able to pick up an entire spare parts kit off "the jungle". Turns out this same kit fits MANY dryer models out there. The kit cost $18+ and came with all three thermostats, the thermistor as well as the heating element. Now our dryer is working again and I have spare parts if it gives out again.

    This was a perfect video. My dryer decided to stop heating. Great Fathers Day present. 12 yr old Maytag Neptune model MDE9700AYW, the same as in this video. Followed the same steps and mine ended up being the heating element itself. Part #: 35001247. Found a local shop that had the part. $88 and about 30 minutes of re-assembly and it was working great. Much appreciation. You saved me a lot of time and money.

    This video worked perfectly, thank you for your help. I bought a multimeter for $30 and did exactly what you showed in the video and it ended up being the heating element. I ordered the part online for around $20 and 2 days later it's working like new again. Thank you again for helping me save our dryer, that is the exact same model of the one in your video. I was on my way to go buy a new dryer when my wife convinced me to do otherwise, which of course was the right decision.

    Thank you so much for this video. I had to laugh because i went through the same process trying to find how to get to the heating element. When i took off the little panel in the back and pulled off the vent tube i said the same thing as you did...thats awful going to get my shop vac. At that point i realized the element was most likely in the front but i could not figure out how to get the front panel off. Thats when i started searching videos. Yours was the only helpful one i found. Once i watched it, i was able to finish the job rather quickly.

    Outstanding video, thank you. BTW the part you replaced (apologies to the chat if this is mentioned earlier) is the thermal fuse, not the thermistor. My multimeter detected good sensors on the heating elements but there was a bad thermistor where you found those coming off the motor/venting. It is still all apart and I will be putting back together in the next little while.

  • @aaronsrose

    @aaronsrose

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hmmm. If all the components check out, my next step would be to check the voltages at the components while the unit is operating. I don't recommend this as there is a lot of 240V stuff down there you can get hurt on. Only other thought is to confirm that you have 240V power coming to the unit and you didn't have a breaker fail and start to cause the unit to single phase.

    Thanks Aaron! My 2006 just stopped heating last night. Your video was perfect! Mine was the heating element. Local appliance parts shop said heating element number was 35001159 and discontinued and they cannot get a replacement., Thanks to bluesteelrider below, i found 35001247 online for $17. Will be up and running Monday.

    I'm sorry to hear that. I'm out of pocket this weekend but you may be able to find the manual for your unit at. www.maytag.com/services/manuals.html Best of luck.

    My solution to my 220v Electric Maytag Neptune MDE5500AYQ not heating at all. It turned out to be my Jumper Wire from the insulator to the High-Limit Thermostat was burnt and disconnected at the female terminal. I suspect in the past before I had the dryer it had taken a lightning strike that had it barely holding on and finally gave out. I put a new terminal on it..ran the dryer and kept feeling the wire, it never got hot so that is all I can think of as to why. I tested continuity on the high limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, thermal fuse and all was good and so was the thermistor @ 77 degrees fahrenheit it was 10k ohms.

    What is the part number for the thermostat 3. I typed in the number I found on it on Amazon and it brought up a piece that looks like it but it was for Samsung. I ordered that in hopes it work, but if it doesn't what was the part number and site you used?

    Howdy! Yes. The part I used was labeled a samsung dc96-00887A. That should get you going. Lots of different manufacturers use the same parts in their machines so this is pretty common. Good luck!

    I've noticed sometimes that the new parts don't last too long. Only thing I can suggest is double check all the resistances on the new parts and see if they might have suffered infant mortality. If they are all good. It could be an actual board issue but I've never tried diagnosing that.

    I thin those codes are for the system check mode, showing 16C as a temp, 00 = sensor bar open and 60C for the cycle temp. Did you hit the wrinkle prevent button after entering service mode? That will allow you to scroll though the trouble codes if any are stored. I found the following online, if you do not have it. It might be of some assistance. www.manualslib.com/manual/763426/Maytag-Ned7200tw.html#product-NGD7200TW

    Howdy! Generally, if there is a problem the unit will throw a code on the screen during a cycle. There is a service mode you can get into though. I'd try this link: manualzz.com/doc/1515345/maytag-mde9700a-troubleshooting-guide It is a factory troubleshooting guide for this dryer and on page 11, there seems to be the Service mode entry and use instructions.
