May 1st 2019 Paycheck Budget Overview

Today, I am bringing you with me on my budgeting journey. We will be going over the paycheck that I received on May 1, 2019. I am a paycheck budgeter, which means I create a paycheck every time I get paid.
Before, I got paid on the 5th and the 20th, but now that I am self-employed full-time, I get a paycheck once a month, on the first day of every month.
In this video, I walk you through every step of my budget and give you the details into what it looks like with a once-a-month budget.
I have been sharing my real budget for over a year on Instagram, but only recently started sharing my budget on KZread. By sharing my actual budget, I hope to show you the process and steps behind paycheck budgeting. I also hope it helps you understand the psychological decisions behind money management.

I am into month 3 of budgeting, and as predicted things have cropped up to try to throw me off course. If I had tried to budget any other way they would have. But I can say that although I have only been able to save $250 towards an emergency fund, I have not incurred any new debt. I never have cash left over from my envelopes (I live in a very expensive city) HOWEVER I have started to sell things on FB Marketplace, opened a small home business, taken books to the second hand book store, etc. Thanks Miko, it is difficult to start. But I have high expectations that debt repayment will begin in July once the EF is funded. You are a blessing, you really are!

Hey I’ve started my debt free journey on August I’ve been doing well and even found it inspiring do document it all on a vlog but then I’ve became a mom and I’m a single mom by choice and it was such a shock for me and I had to teach my self how to budget for two and only recently I’ve got the hang of it. Sad to say I fell of the wagon few times didn’t have the energy to follow through my budget. What helped me get back on track was your inspiring vlogs which I’m thankful for. What did you do differently budget wise when you became a mom?

You decide how much u need for that specific fund and divide by how many months you think you will need. For example if you want to have your birthday fund at 100 dollars and you have 5 months to do it then for the next 5 months you would save 20 dollars a month until u hit your goal amount. Lydia Hill you should split your bills in smaller amounts instead of paying one big bill with your check. My car payment is $303.69 a month but I pay $75 each week and pay it off until the day it’s due. I get paid weekly, so that how i do it. If you get paid bi-weekly then split your bills in half

missahill09 I get paid weekly and I always budget each paycheck every Friday. I have a calendar and I write down all the bills that I have and pay them accordingly. One thing that I do that is helpful is I split my bills in smaller amounts to make them easier to pay. For example, my car note is $303.69 a month but instead of paying that large amount out of one paycheck (which sucks) I divide by 4 weeks and pay $75 each paycheck to pay for my bills.
