Not to mention the fact you have to stack points by using things like expel, chi, flying, etc, to get any ramp damage. The class feels extremely one dimensional and if any mechanic or stun happens on your go you're out of luck for the next 90s

HELL YEAH WINDWALKER

Execution Sentence is your second biggest damage source in pure ST build, and is a large reason why Ret ST and AoE builds has such a large cap in ST damage. Nerfing it, and shifting power outside of it is very good.

I'm hoping the smooth out Brewmaster's button bloat.

Aff lock rework is weird, it addresses a lot of the core problems aff had but it doesn’t replace the problematic stuff with anything of substance. Seed spam and doom blossom being gone are good but they got replaced by generic damage increase nodes instead of new, healthier talents. Technically speaking it’s a good rework, it accurately identified and addressed most of the core issues, but it lacks something new and exciting. Oblivion is cool but that being the only new gameplay addition is a bit underwhelming. Maybe their logic is that hero talents already are doing the gameplay innovation and doing too much with their base tree would overcomplicate things?

i think that as an initial rework it's great, i think it will get iterated upon and fleshed out like ret has been over DF because there are soooooo many pala and lock players. it's great that we are getting so many reworks and core issues fixed this early in alpha imo

Shaman brothers we must rise, we cant continue to let blizz cuck us from changes while DHs, paladins, priests, mages, rogues have gotten 10x the changes

They need to remove the soul gathering requirement from Reaver for havoc (or add automatic soul gathering like vengeance gets on soul cleave/spirit bomb) and change the visuals of the abilities. Having your power tied to souls as havoc is ridiculous, not only because you cannot deterministically summon them like vengeance but because they are hard to see in visually busy fights and often land in death zones where you can't pick them up. Keep the current random generation of souls for havoc and have an ability like blade dance hoover them up. Reaver fixed.

Think they want DH's "complexity" come from moving around, as the button rotations are pretty simple. The hovering up might not be what they want, but they ought to give some tools for havoc to be able to snatch up souls from dangerous places

I started watching your videos because of the spec tree changes at the beginning of Dragonflight. I stayed because your are as much of a sophisticated GichaChad as myself, showing some love for Monks, especially WW.

@@billnyedoesminecraftjoseph8379 because it affects the gameplay of that spec. The hero talents just compund the issues it has. Also the only thing good about deathbringer is D&D being an aura . I’m sorry but just because you can ride a horsie now doesn’t fix the blaring issues the spec has.

Monk changes sound really awesome but if they don't put the dash back in I might have to reroll... I can see myself rolling, doublejumping and serpent kicking my way everywhere but EXACTLY melee range.

Max, would you please give us your opinions on the current state of Shaman?

it is true that it has seemed like some of the original class designers for like WW and warlock left and they have been scrambling ever since. Maybe some more classes too that I'm not aware of

Survival's tree has been basically unchanged since beta. They want 0 of their mastery and yet other specs are getting mastery improvements. Almost always at the bottom of the dps charts. Nonexistant raid-utility. Yeah, survival is the one you're not aware of because nobody is aware of them, not even the Blizzard devs lol.

I hope survival gets the outlaw rogue treatment where they just remove "survival" call it something else and just do a whole redesign. But that's some copium probably

Whenever there is a QoL talent and no left over points, I don’t chose the QoL talent. Placement harder to hit all targets with spinning crane kick

This is really bad feeling when you are a spec with one or two bad hero talent trees and the only good thing about them are visuals. You just look at other players who has both good talents and visuals and feel like you've been Blizzard's unloved child. Its really critical for playerbase that Blizzard has to really nail every single hero talent tree.

Hate to see the removal of stance-dancing on Prot Warrior. I was hoping they'd do the opposite: 15% miti and 10% damage reduction on Defensive Stance for all specs, with Prot's unique damage sources simply being tuned around the assumption that they'd stay in Defensive Stance, making Battle Stance slightly more rewarding. Or at least give us a talent, perhaps in place of the Weapon Specialization tax for Prot, to allow for rewarding stance dancing without quite making it obligatory for everyone (due to the talent's net cost)...

The only thing windwalking needs is for it to stack with other movement speed buffs.

Agreed. Go count the balance druid reworks since around Cata. It's crazy the number of reworks they've gotten. I think they've had something like 5 in the last 3 expansions.

Here's hoping they look into Feral more. They somehow managed to make it feel worse

Unless Battle Stance stops increasing crit chance i don't see the Def Stance change doing much, i'm afraid. Honestly i wish they'd just yeet the Stances. Or, failing that, assign one to every spec (Battle Stance for Arms, Berserker for Fury and Defensive for Prot). If your gear doesn't need the extra protection, you stay in BS at all times during a dungeon. If your gear *does* need the extra protection, you stay in DS at all times. There's no exciting gameplay happening here.

i mean the thing is if they just assign 1 to each spec, they might aswell remove them altogether as it means u would just get into stance once when the expac launches and never think abt it again, imo they should rly buff them and give each spec 2 or 3 like in MoP, with each very diff and interesting effects, but they probably won’t, they’ve made warriors worse already with the recent changes and i don’t think they give a fuck abt giving us anything cool

I love how blizzard is just completely ignoring the fact that shaman exists. Feels like they forgot, when was the last time the class got any tuning? Defensive issue is not getting adressed at all in hero talents so far either, and likely wont be either. Please Max, use your influence and get some justice for the blue boys

Dont worry, just like windwalker got their rework after mage got their 7th rework since nyalotha, shaman will get one sometime between the 9th and the 10th. You dont realise, if fire mage isnt 3x stronger than every other class that is a problem, and needs to be fixed immediately

@@simpleman3898 No one spell is "how you play a spec". You play aff by managing DoTs, managing various buffs and other debuffs, and spending soul shards on your spender -- which happens to be Malefic Rapture right now. Rotationally, if you replace Rapture with say an Unstable Affliction spender, all you would have is a spec that plays nearly the exact same but damage is done through Dots instead of rapture essentially "popping" those dots. It would actually change very little in single target except that your ramp/burst damage would be EVEN worse and your AOE will be essentially impossible to balance OR will be reliant on something like Sow the Seeds (which is a dogshit spell that has nothing to do with Dots). If you want the spec to play different, you don't target the spender. You target how many maintenance spells feels comfortable and how quick you can set up damage. That's exactly what they've done in TWW. This is massive gameplay difference, and I can guarantee it will be applauded when people play it --- but for some reason we have people like this poster that would probably be more excited if all they did was remove rapture and bring back UA as a spender --- ignoring the fact that the spec would play just as bad if not worse than it does on retail.

Pursuit of Angryness: Probably a play on words for 'Pursuit of Happyness' (Will Smith movie, spelling and everything)

I like how aff has a million changes and the only half interesting ones are a big cd shard spender and shadowbolt volley. Just a bunch of boring ass % increases with no thought put into them. Just rework the whole spec already... again.

Uh, no. Sometimes removing things can be just as impactful as adding. There's way less maintenance bullshit now on Aff and the shard gen is much improved, making the rotation a lot more active. You have to go through the calculator on wowhead to really see the changes, and if you don't have a great understanding of aff on retail right now even then you'll probably underestimate the impact these changes have had. It will be incredibly different/more fun/more accessible to play.

Im geniunely getting sick and tired of how blizzard treats Warriors, we were one of the only specs to have pretty much 0 change after DF launch, the DF launch warrior trees were WORSE than the DF beta trees, and now we’ve had the WORST « rework » everything is nerfed, not necessarily in power, but in how it plays/feels, and we’ve had a grand total of 0000000 NEW talent, nothing cool at all, the class and specs are just WORSE now, absolutely insane
