Just found out on ancestor dna and 23and me traced it to Saami roots on mums side. It’s funny the similarities in spiritual etc. Yet no generic or geographical evidence of intermingle, Ive always been drawn to Sioux music and spirituality. Never knew who saami were till today. Any info and help would be great as is quite limited.

D Man again thankyou so so so much, Bouhhris my friend. All knowledge is good to me , I am always is search of truth wisdom ....and feel a weird connectivity towards saami...always gravitated toward 2 groups ppl , being Sioux mainly and Rasta (back to basics as best can, and reduce my footprint) also I find very interesting the shamanistic side of things, kinda vibrates with me big time. Again thank you D Man, most appreciated ,and I hope to travel to my ancestors land and experience the culture and history. Feel proud and curious. Thank you brother

Jojk is so amazing. It hit's me right in the heart. Having a daughter myself I just get superemotional hearing this. I'm so proud that I live in a country with this amazing culture. And at the same time so ashamed of all the shit the government put the Sami-people through in the past. It is truly a national treasure that should be cherished for eternity

The governement put other groups through that aswell. The Romani/Travellers were on the edge of extinction from the swedish governement and their friends in Germany and beyond the German fall. Every Traveller family in Sweden know about the sterilization resulting in no children, the "fostercare" of our children and the forced assimilation to swedish society. The Roma people or the Travellers or the "Tattare" is a forgotten group.

@@dominikaboch4296 When your ancestral lands are stolen from you, your holy men killed and holy drums burned, get your sculls and nose measured in the early days of eugenics, you are forced to leave away your children to Swedish state run school and be forcefully assimilated the list can go on and the oppression is not a part of the past. The Sami people are constantly having their rights as a native population trample over by the Swedish state... The suicide rate among Sami youth stands out from the rest of the population as a result of racism towards Sami people, the hopelessness of being ignored and seeing your future being taken away from you from all directions. Right now there is talk about starting a mine close to Sami land and reindeer paths. The mine threatens to destroy the reindeer pastures forever and thus also destroy the Sami culture. The government is due to decide on this in March, and during the negotiations the state representatives have, without blinking an eye or feeling ashamed, spouted the most racist claims that the Sami culture is dying out and they must sooner or later be assimilated into the rest of society, uncritically reading out arguments from the 19th century. Sweden has received a lot of criticism from both the UN and Amnesty for the way they violate the rights of the Sami. amnesty.se/aktuellt/aven-nar-det-handlar-om-karlek-maste-regelverket-och-rattigheterna-respekteras-karl-petter-thorwaldsson/
