Guilty gear especially does an amazing job of giving their characters personality and flair with their key animations and general design. In the previous games her key was an install as well but she used blood packs instead of this Jealousy Gauge. Made her move faster and do a lot more.

She would also take damage when in Moroha mode and she could access a stronger version of that mode, Goku Moroha. If she was knocked down 3 times while in that mode she would lose it. She would also heal a % of the damage she dealt/HP she lost if she herself reverted back from Moroha. All of that is gone. Her playstyle was high risk high reward (With people joking that when low on HP, ABA players would go nuts and risk everything as they had nothing left to lose) and they gutted that.

A.B.A. players will build their own jealousy gauge inverse to their characters. The emptier her gauge is the more the player is jealous of the opponent being able to move.

I feel like the strength of ArcSys' style is geared towards more stiff animations that look akin to anime whereas Darkstalkers was inspired by classic western animation. I feel like Future Club (current Skullgirls devs) would probably be best.

Primary differences were that she didn’t build a meter, it only drained when she was in Moroha Mode (previous version of Jealous Rage) and she lost life when attacking in Moroha mode, but gained life when leaving it, Jealous rage is just a massively simplified version of that.

ngl, this seems like a very faithful translation of her kit to strive standards (besides the unfortunate loss of goku moroha aka the mode where everything is cancellable and you get a million FRCs)

This character is going to make me pick up zoners because I want her as far away from me as possible

I love how many people I've seen online saying she's broken, when she hasn't been played or really had her normal state shown that much. She definitely looks like she'll have a rough time without Jealous Rage, will be very feast-or-famine to play. I'm looking forward to her!

I personally think their going with a lot of characters based around emotions or emotions being a big part of personality ex: Johnny being a lovebird, Elphelt having too many emotions, anr A.B.A being jealous and insane. Makes me hope that Slayer is next.

I was thinking about the gameplan. The mechanics of the game push for offense and she's slow, defensive, and requires notable parrying, which definitely creates a challenging normal stance neutral. But then she has more ways to go in and out of her stance and it means there'll likely be a rhythm to her playstyle and gameplan that will REALLY connect with the right players. Also, it looks like she has a blue wild assault, which will really help with her pressure in combos and balancing her low normal mobility. But, we'll see.... Oh, and the animations and that weird door in space at the start of her reveal trailer all give serious Full Metal Alchemist vibes. Being a homunculus and all, even if it isn't the same stuff, it's kinda interesting how it has a similar alchemy vibe.

She was hard to use in the Accent Core, she was VERY slow, but also activating her “Berserker mode” was harder to pull off.

Her gauge dry very fast, but you gain them relatively fast as well. If enemy are agressive, they just giving you charge, and one input grab will charge you 1/3 of her gauge. And her gauge doesnt put her in any risky situation as well. Movement wise, i think it was good choice to balanced her Berserker playstyle.

This almost feels like someone at Arc Systems looked at the problems with SF6 Lily and wrote some notes down. A.B.A. gets her better movement and plus frames from a meter instead of a handful of charges. You have ways to manage the meter that can prevent you from losing it all if an interaction goes sour. You have jealousy charging moves that bolster defense if you're smart about 'em so you aren't SOL when the opponent gets in on you.

I love that they can finally exploit more the personality of ABA and Paracelsus, I laugh a lot at their reactions (I hope to see Zappa in the future just for his animations). I'm surprised that they keep most of their moves the same, they just don't have their projectile and install super if I'm not mistaken. On the other hand I'm not ready for their theme music, if the old theme was weird I guess this one will have to be the same haha.

Only a few times have I instantly chosen a favorite, and A.B.A is an owner of one of those times.

What Max said is true TO AN EXTENT. Sure its seems hard but its only moderate. In reality. Plus how she used to be it was far better but it came ar a risk that made her a little harder especially because of the Draw backs it originally had. She's a top tier in her instal and low tier without it. But finding that balance is important. The risk and reward/Give and take is when she is in her install it would drain her of her HP or Drain her Blood Pack stacks. So you had to be smart when you use it and have attacks that allows you to go in and out of that mode. But everything you saw in Strive is extremely faithful to her Accent core version. Now the hardesr part about her is gone. She's gonna extremely easy to play. All the draw backs you had in Accent core are gone. Especially with the tools thet gave her.

What max doesn’t know about ABA is that while she is was high tier (not top tier) she heavily relied on Moroha Mode as well as Goku Moroha which is her strongest install. The Jealousy gauge in strive is just a watered down version of Moroha without the conditions of using it. I think she’ll do just fine in this game (still not enough to make me reinstall strive lol)
