    During the regular season the commentators always mentioned Cael's record in college. I noticed that with DC commentating not once was it mentioned or was it mentioned that DC's only finals appearance in nationals was losing to Cael.

    Great to hear good about JW, that he conducts himself as gentleman> excellent !! That in the long run is what counts, charscter counts MORE than trophies that end up gathering dust on a lonely shelf in a basement when your 55 and NO ONE cares about your sports accomplishments. That said, making finals is legendary accomplishment. Congratulations JW. You are THE number one BEST WRESTLER of the Iowa 21/22 team.

    Dean is such a bulldog. He wrestles a lot of close matches and wins them. He is not flashy, but he stays in the match and wrestles to the end.

    Warner was the underdog. He had to take more chances. Wrestling conservative helped Dean, IMO.

    Most Natonal Championship matces are like this when you are wrestling for the biggest title you can get in college wrestling it's hard to tallk yourself into taking a risk by shooting especially when that one shot can mean disaster for the match.

    Wow, the coach called for it, and sure enough, he tried to take a shot. It didn't work out, but that is some trust to have in your coaching. Commendable. (Could be confusing it with the other coach making that call unsure)

    @@enotstehw the real concern is getting rid of the singlets right? It’s uncomfortable to look at. Penn state’s singlet is just too much, and their stalling ability is unmatched. Also, are Penn state wrestlers required to go to bible study? Do they get 3 credits a semester for bible 101 to 401?

    @@chunkbutfunky Sorry I don't know about Bible study at state college. I think Sanderson is a Mormon. Now your making me think of Perdue singlets with that message on their bottoms. LMAO? Iowa is the king of clubbing and stalling in my opinion. But I think the NCAA should change the rules. If both stall, no shots, each team loses team points. And a push out of bounds awards a point.

Wrestling is a hard sport, no team & no wrestler wins all the time. 20+ yrs ago it was Iowa that achieved the unthinkable > 5 ncaa champions, this yr it Penn state. Those are the extremes & rare in examples of success. But what does normal success look like ? Having a couple wrestlers qualify for the NCAA's & win even a few matches is a success, a program with an All American is a success. So Iowa had a finalist and several in consolation medal matches. That is a huge success. And at the end of the day it's only a sport, not the most important thing in life & the world.

    This match was a good example of brands vs cael. Emotional, overly aggressive, insecure vs collected confident and precise. While Iowa punched and rushed Penn state took the key point. Superior mentality

    Sometimes the breaks go in your favor, and then sometimes the other way. Lots and lots of matches are not perfectly refereed. Nobody can hold anything against Dean or minimize his championship.

    If you think Brands is helping the program than your not paying attention. One National champ last year. Spencer wins it no matter what school he’s at. No credit to Brands. PSU,5 champs,4 last year. 9Team championships in the last 11 years! Glad to hear you’re content. A little less yelling and a little more preparation. The talented kids he gets deserve it .
