Max Canada Lynx Easter Egg Hunt

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

I hid three eggs under a plastic hideaway for Max. Two were plastic and one was a real African Goose egg. He was only mildly interested. Just like a cat, no attention span. He then ventured off investigating the bushes, grass scooting and just enjoyed the sunshine. He got tired after an hour of hanging out and wanted back to his enclosure. How did I know this? He wandered towards it and then looked at me. I've gotten pretty good at reading his expressions.

I LOVE to watch a cat, ANY cat, THINKING AND EVALUATING a situation. If they can't figure it out they walk away seeming to say OH HECK WITH THIS! I DON'T REALLY CARE ANYWAY. Then later they COME BACK and try AGAIN! 😀 😺 👌💜 🙋 👍 Hi Gal!

Hi Bernie. Love the videos, but PLEASE use a windshield on your microphone, despite there being little to actually hear. Best wishes from the UK and lots of love to Maxwell 🥰 xxx

@Paul Walker - Hi Paul. I know it's bad but this video was taken with a point and shoot camera. I think my camcorder is better at preventing that. 😻

Max likes the eggs a lot.. he just knows that the little yellow chicks of marshmallow and the baby bunnies of milk chocolate must have scampered off into the bushes and He needs to 'git 'em' out.

Aww, he plays in the grass like my housecat does. Funny how so many different kinds of cats exhibit similar behavior.

Is it normal for a Lynx to have such a short tail? I've never seen that before on a Feline.

MetroVerse, Yep...both the lynx and bobcat have those little bobbed tails. It's their genetics.

Yadgar1969 - Yes, Eurasians have longer tails than the Canada. I previously worked with both at a zoo.

Adorable max..hihihi. I just wonder, would it be great if he could enjoy real hunting game, such as chasing cockroach, lizards or mice like any domestic housecat would do since they were young. Moreover, this lynx has more tendency to hunt things as a natural born predator. His instinct seems like he wanted to channel his skill horning but to no avail at the moment. Could u please record a video of him play with you, running around in the house maybe, provided all doors n windows shut to prevent he lurks out unintentionally. I wish I could hug him even if just for a brief moment like you do everyday...So envy of you~ 😂✌🏻️

+immortal bandit25 Lol, Max doesn't live in the house. There would be nothing left untouched by his monster paws. Plus our 8 domestic cats would be a bit overwhelmed with his presence. He does enjoy hunting. I think there is a mole near his cage or a snake as I watch him watch the back of the garage where there's a woodpile. Sometimes he starts pawing at the mulch. Don't be too envious as spring is in the air and he's wild with biting and clawing for no reason. He has his moments of sweetness.

Nedeljko18, Max lived in the house for the first 6 months and my domestics were afraid of him except one but Max played rough, so that one was not having it.

nedeljko18 You know how cats will lay on their backs, grab a hold of their playmate and kick with their back legs? Well, Max had more wild in him than my domestics, so his play biting and general play was rougher and too rough for my cats. Now, with me, Max will sometimes get too excited and play bite too hard or his nails will come out. Being that humans have tender skin, I discourage rough playing with Max. I'll throw a ball or have him chase a feather but when he wants to bite and kick or wrestle, we stop playing.

Bernie, do your neighbors ever see Max outside and get curious about your "big kitty?" I assume that whenever he's on his tie-out, you always stay with him?

  • @wildlifebernie

    @wildlifebernie

+SAM50049 Yes, I always stay with him even if he's on the tie-out because I can't be sure if he will snap the lead or wriggle out of the harness and it also gives us one-on-one time. I have seen people drive by slowly but no one has ever stopped. The one neighbor who does come to visit him with her children/grandchildren will call first. If I'm outside with him and he hears them next door, although a bit away, he freaks out like.......OMG, they are coming for me.....let's get out of here!

Max is protected and loved. Not like in the fur industry that traps and kills them in the wild for their magnificence and sake of fashion.

Again: Cats have an unbelievable attentionspan (have you ever seen the attention paid by a cat that is stalking, sometimes for hours..)... when they see some that is interesting, such as a prey item..
