Simply the best and most time-economical tutorial I've found on these modes. Especially course lock. Thank you so much!

Hi Jeff, how do you like these options compared to the way you normally do it? I am creating them using the other way you do it. Not really a fan of these hyperlapse options. But as always, love your method of teaching.

Hi Jack, thanks for the comment. I really like it from the standpoint of being able to automate the process. However, from a creative shot standpoint, i think Tripod mode (and then speed up in post) is the better option. In Tripod mode you can just push the sticks full throttle in any direction to maintain a nice steady speed (while rising, descending, pulling away, etc).

Thanks for the video.....now if only I could justify the almost €2000 for the Mavic 2 Pro and fly more kit! Still love my Mavic Air

Do you know if you can, in Course Lock, have the direction go sideways for the flight? Wondering, other than Orbit, if I can set in either Course Lock or Way Point, a sideways flight, rather than forward or back. Seems like you should be able to choose the direction in CL but haven't figured out how to change which direction other than forward or reverse. Maybe you can't?

Hi Tom, great question. Yep, the trick is to set the course lock direction first using the normal forward/back direction to line up your path. Once you hit go, you can turn/orient the Mavic in any direction you want so you can frame your shot accordingly. I don't know of any way to frame the shot prior like you mentioned since the course lock is using the camera view to set up. Good luck!

I can't select hyper lapse mode - it shows as blank (greyed out) from my screen.... How do I fix this?

Hi Marco, try upgrading the firmware on the Mavic. I have found that some of these have been shipping with just a basic firmware, where not all of the features are available. That should solve the issue.

Didn't look like you were using your tablet mount Jeff Greene. Didn't work out as anticipated?

Hi Timdks, the tabelet mount works out great. As it turns out, my IPAD mini4 is small enough to fit the stock controller without the additional set up.

nice tutorial but I feel that the motion would have looked better with a ND filter on to slow down the shutter speed, to make it look a lot smoother

Yep agreed Mark. Unfortunately i was not able to get my hands on nd filters prior to this video. I'll be testing a couple diff brands shortly. Which brand do prefer?

How would that help since this is done shooting all stills and then putting together as a movie clip though Mark? I use ND on all my video stuff in daylight btw.

it would have slowed the shutter speed down. "Dragging" the shutter creates an unusual effect

I really hope that doesn't happen. We have a place near Aurora that we are worried about from the storm surge. Fingers crossed 😓
